On The Translation Of Culture-loaded Words Under The Guidance Of Translation Compensation Theory

The report is based on the translation of the seventh and eighth chapters,The Narrative Features of Tang Fu and The Narrative Characterisitics of Ancient Prose,of Research on the Narrative Tradition of Chinese Literature written by Dong Naibin,which is a Chinese Academic Project sponsored by the National Social Fund of China.As a literary work,there are abundant literature and culture loaded words in the book.In view of the phenomena such as cultural cognitive differences,corresponding vocabulary vacancies,semantic understanding deviation in the translation of culture loaded words,it is bound to become the difficulty of this translation practice.This report attempts to make analysis on the compensation by integration and compensation by isolation from the perspective of lexical compensation in the translation of Chinese culture loaded words.The two strategies are further divided into four compensation methods: amplification,domestication,annotation within text and annotation outside text.Through the compensation of culture loaded words,the translator can retain the unique cultural image in the original text to the maximum extent,deliver the source language culture to the target readers and reprensent the source language spirit.This report hopes to provide a reference for the application of compensation strategies in literary translation in the future.
