The Chinese percussion work "Mo Si" is a Chinese percussion solo work composed by the young composer Xu Ke of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2017.This paper takes the performance technique of “Mo Si” as the main research object, and takes the composer’s creative style(or creative writing),the composition background, and the interviews with the composer as primary information. From the creative methods of musical language and diversified timbre configuration, the rhythm design without prejudgment is used as the starting point. The independent use of one hand, the coordinated control of both hands, and the use of special playing techniques in "Mo Si" are analyzed in detail. It puts forward higher technical requirements for players in terms of endurance, stability, explosive power, and so on to reflect the works’ distinct melody lines, rhythmic changes in cadence, and rich sound effects. This will bring some inspiration and thinking to the individual in the three aspects of performance, creation, and theory.Based on the above, the first chapter of this paper mainly outlines the introduction of Xu Ke and the creative background of his works;the second chapter is the preparation for the performance of "Mo Si",including the placement of the instruments, the selection of drumsticks and the analysis of the music structure;the third chapter focuses on a detailed analysis of the performance techniques in this piece. In the end,I summarize the whole paper and put forward my own opinions and thinking.
