Research History Of Chinese Ancient Ceramics（1900-1982） ——Centred On Ceramic Archaeology

The research object of this paper is the discovery and research materials of ancient ceramics and ancient kiln sites from 1900 to 1982,and analyzes the discovery and research of ancient ceramics focusing on ceramic archaeology in this period from an academic-historical perspective,and conducts thematic studies in stages to elaborate the research development of Chinese ancient ceramics from1900 to 1982.The full text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a review of the academic history of Chinese antique ceramics research,which analyzes and comments the research results of previous scholars on the development of Chinese antique ceramics research from 1900 to1982.The second chapter is the tradition of antique appreciation and ancient ceramics research,through combing the ancient literature on ceramics,introducing the history of the development of Chinese ancient ceramics appreciation tradition,and combing and commenting the research results of ancient ceramics from 1900 to 1949 under this tradition.The third chapter is on the initial period of ceramic archaeology from 1921 to1949,introducing the excavation of the ancient city of Julu and related research on Julu Song ware,as well as its positive effect on kiln site archaeology,respectively combing through the investigations of Chinese and foreign scholars on Chinese ceramic kiln sites,such as Chen Wanli and Ye Linzhi,including some early unscientific and aggressive kiln site excavation activities,from 1928 onwards,and summarizing the shift in the study of ancient ceramics under the influence of kiln site activities,which is the combination of archaeological materials with heirloom porcelain and ancient documentary records,and the application of technological analysis to the study of ancient ceramics.The fourth chapter is the development and Emergence of Ceramic Archaeology from 1950 to 1982,is divided into four sections: the first section is divided into two phases,1950-1966 and 1972-1982,to introduce the investigation of ceramic kiln sites since the founding of New China;the second section introduces the development of kiln site excavation from rough excavation,to scientific excavation,and then to excavation of porcelain kiln site groups;the third section deals with five aspects of ancient ceramics research: the study of specific kiln sites and their products,the development of the concept of kiln systems,various advances in the scientific and technological study of ancient ceramics,the study of export ceramics,and the study of Ming and Qing porcelain;the fourth section introduces the compilation of the History of Chinese Ceramics and its academic value.
