With the rapid development of modern industrial civilization, social economy and material, the crisis of modernity is breaking out in an all-round way.Living in the mode of scientific and technological rationality and mechanized life, modern people gradually lose their true nature, moral collapse, unconscious "ready to move",and formed two opposing forces with individual consciousness, and lost the balance of mind.People have lost their spiritual home, and it is urgent to save the soul of modern people. This is an important representation of the crisis of modernity. In reflections on modernity has brought the huge cultural roots, the Carl gustav jung as psychology expert analysis, over time, between the west and the east built a inside the bridge of the mind,to Orient the metaphysics, the mysterious nature of the original witchcraft and religion in psychology,By emphasizing the relationship between the state of the human mind and symbols,it opens up a path to the inner space of the human spirit.Mandala is a kind of archetypal image, widely existing in folk customs, religious affairs and even daily life around the world,is the object of artistic expression. In Jung’s view, mandala image is the main type of illusion,is the individual intuitive expression,it symbolizes the law or origin of spiritual development,is a symbol of self. Therefore, the mandala is essentially related to the cosmic system of the mind and has ancient healing genes. It is not only the expression of patterns, but also can react on its creator and have an impact on the mind, which has strong modern therapeutic value and significance. The mandala healing mechanism is the release of archetypal power in the unconscious and the individual achieves a strong sense of detachment. This abstract expression is inseparable from the concrete symbolic meaning of the mandala pattern.First of all,in terms of form, the mandala is mostly in the form of "encircling ring",that is,the outer ring is a round form. The circle surrounding the interior protects the consciousness of unity within from being dissipated by the unconscious.Secondly, the matching of mandala colors is also a direct reaction to mood.Again,as the other in time, the image of mandala is pre-modern and pre-civilized primitive culture, which contains the primitive thinking energy of "close to nature".The healing mechanism of mandala originates from the specific healing practice of mandala: Mandala painting stimulates people’s positive imagination and gets rid of the psychological split state;Mandala imagery awakens the powerful primitive collective unconscious power through aesthetic and religious experience in the form of art and religion, integrates the psychology of modern people, and realizes the purpose of individual spiritual therapy.Compared with other treatment methods, the biggest difference of mandala therapy is that it directly faces and cures the broken heart, helps individuals rediscover the meaning and purpose of life, and achieves the effect of treating the symptoms and the root cause as described by Jung. Its special significance lies in that the prototype image of mandala is objective and impersonal. It avoids personal limitation and does not stick to a certain form of expression. It transcends The Times, nations and countries, but it does not affect everyone at all.Despite the limitations of mandala therapy,it paved the way for modern psychotherapy.
