The art of Chinese landscape painting has experienced more than 1400 years of development,from the initial prototype of landscape painting to the gradually mature freehand painting in the Northern Song Dynasty.In this process,landscape painting has gradually formed a unique style and system.This style of landscape painting shows the concept of the unity of form and spirit,the harmonious coexistence of man and nature,and expresses the love ancient painters had for natural scenery.Through unique observation of the scenery,the ancient painter would make a description of the landscape scenery,then dynamically construct the whole picture,thus creating a distinct artistic conception,reflecting the high level of aesthetic consciousness in ancient China.This kind of aesthetic consciousness is mainly based on subjective and active freehand brushwork,which enhances the form structure and expression of the picture as a whole.In this way,the Northern Song Dynasty landscape painting came into being.In “Lin Quan Gao Zhi”,Guo Xi summarizes the classical expression of landscape painting,and summarizes three classical expositions of landscape painting,including the "Gao Yuan method" to be studied in this thesis.The proposal of this Sanyuan method gives a general overview of the creation of Chinese traditional painting and a rule that the observation by which the landscape painting comes from must reflect nature.On this basis,the painter expresses the intuitive feelings felt from this scene in nature through painting techniques.Among these painting techniques is the so-called "lofty method" or "from the bottom of the mountain to the top of the mountain,” otherwise known as the Top-Down approach.The mountains and rivers are undulating,the peaks are strong and the situation is powerful,giving people a towering realm and momentum." Gao Yuan " can create a kind of ancient and lofty artistic conception.Fan Kuan’s work " Mini Game " in the Northern Song Dynasty is a typical painting that applies the " Gao Yuan method.”This thesis mainly analyzes and demonstrates the masterpiece of the "Gao Yuan method"and its application thereof in Fan Kuan’s work " Mini Game.” The author analyzes the inheritance spirit,artistic expression and pen and ink techniques of this painting,and also analyzes its source of life and artistic transformation.The author uses a new perspective to create the landscape painting "Dongzhai New Road",using "Mini Game" as inspiration to help summarize the creative experience,hoping to provide some reference for landscape painters.The first chapter of the thesis mainly discusses the proposal of the Gao Yuan method and its presentation in the landscape painting of the Northern Song Dynasty.This chapter makes a brief exposition not only on the formation and evolution of landscape painting in the Northern Song Dynasty,but also on the concept of Gao Yuan method and its embodiment in the Northern Song Dynasty.The second chapter is a transitional chapter,which mainly discusses the application of gao Yuan method in modern and contemporary landscape paintings of northern Guangxi.First of all,it discusses the relationship between the Gao Yuan method and the aesthetic characteristics of northern Guangxi,and then discusses the painting value of the theme of northern Guangxi.On this basis,it summarizes the embodiment of the Gao Yuan method in the landscape painting of northern Guangxi.The third chapter focuses on the creative practice of the "Gao Yuan method" in the example of "Dongzhai New Road".First of all,the author expounds on the passion of sketching and creation.Secondly,the author analyzes the layout of ideas and rules.Thirdly,the author discusses the construction of pen and ink and artistic conception.Finally,the author expounds the problems encountered in the creative process.This chapter is mainly divided into the following six points: the inspiration of sketching,perfecting the creative method of sketching,the idea of drawing materials,the form of composition,paying attention to the function of pen and ink,all of which point to the application of "Gao Yuan method" in "Dong Zhai New Road".The fourth chapter is the perception and thinking of this thesis.Based on the process mentioned above,the author makes a perception and reflection on the creation of landscape painting.The author expounds on the historical value and contemporary significance of the lofty method of landscape painting in the Northern Song Dynasty,as well as the renewal of the creative concept of landscape painting.The author puts forward some ideas on how to achieve future creative direction so as to continue to draw inspiration from these ancient landscape painting styles,while also achieving innovation.
