| With the development of communication technology and artificial intelligence,especially in the context of the coronavirus pandemic,interpreting activities have also been affected.Due to its timeliness,safety and low cost,remote interpreting has gradually become an increasingly popular interpreting mode in today’s market and a hotspot of interpreting research.The author served as a simultaneous interpreter at the 10thWorld Congress on Conductive Education,and chose the materials of this congress as research object to write an interpretation practice report.Based on this task,this report is divided into four parts,including task description,process description,case study and conclusion.In the case study,the author focuses on the challenges caused by remote interpreting to interpreters,the requirements for interpreters’skills,and the interpreting equipment used in this task.At the same time,the author objectively describes the difficulties during interpreting like subtitle interpreting,relay interpreting and high-density information.Under the guidance of the interpretive theory,the author analyzes his performance and summarizes the corresponding coping tactics,such as applying syntactic linearity,using keywords,resorting to slides,and supplementing with background knowledge to reduce interpreting burden and improve accuracy.In the conclusion,the author puts forward suggestions for interpreters to better cope with the challenges brought by remote interpreting based on this practice.For example,interpreters should be well prepared before the task,improve communication and coordination skills and interpreting technology application capabilities.The author hopes these suggestions can be a reference and inspiration for students and interpreters who are engaged in remote interpreting in the future. |
