Research On The Connotation Of Five-Color Words In "Sou-Shen-Chi"

Eastern Jin Dynasty Ganbao’s collection of bizarre novels in notebook style "Sou-Shen-Chi" has always attracted the attention of the academic circles.The research fields involved include witch culture,prophecy,religion,yin and yang,five elements,etc.,but there is little research on color.By combing through the "New Collection of Sou-Shen-Chi" edited by Mr.Li Jianguo,it can be seen that there are as many as 118 phrases in the five-color range of blue,white,red,black,and yellow（including words of different colors that appear in the same article）.It can be seen from the book "Sou-Shen-Chi" that "clear the way of the gods without false accusation",Gan Bao wrote this novel to prove the real existence of ghosts and gods,and the role played by color is particularly important.Studying the connotations of the five-color words in "So Shen Ji" will help to deepen the understanding of "So Shen Ji".According to historical records,Ganbao’s background and career experience have had an important impact on the creation of "Sou-Shen-Chi".Under the influence of the family style of active entry into the WTO and the study style of diligent study,Gan Baoguan,who loves yin and yang techniques,went to Zuo Shushu and led the compilation of "History of Jin"."Sou-Shen-Chi " reflects the different blessings and misfortunes,and at the same time is mixed with the "record" spirit of Ganbao.The creation of "Sou-Shen-Chi" originated from the resurrection of the father’s favored maid and the strange incident of the brothers.The confrontation between "atheists" and "theists" in the torrent of the times has also become one of the ways for Ganbao to "prove the truth of Shinto".The five-color words of "Sou-Shen-Chi",which "recorded the book first and collected the legacy at that time",include six parts: cyan,white,red,black,yellow,and multi-color.These five-color words are often not simple color descriptions,but have cultural connotations such as status symbols,auspicious omen and so on.The overall interpretation of the use of color in "Sou-Shen-Chi" shows that its influencing factors mainly include the theological superstition of yin and yang and the five elements,the religious beliefs and folk worship of Taoism and Buddhism,and so on.The use of five-color words in "Sou-Shen-Chi" had an important influence on the novel creation of later generations."Ji Shen Lu","Records of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty","Liu Yi Biography","Jing Shi Tong Yan",etc.can all see the shadow of "Sou-Shen-Chi",and the development process is not limited to the description of five colors,according to the development of the story and emotional expression.To meet the needs of the novel,the secondary color gradually entered the stage of creation,which enriched the color description in the novel creation,and made the text outline more vivid,specific and vivid.
