It was realized in all cultural fields that the human society, dominated by natural scientific rationality, had fallen into an unprecedented spiritual crisis as early as the German classical period.Goethe criticized the pure rational spirit represented by "Wagner" in his "Faust".Heine also soberly realized that Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason was a sharp sword to sever the head of deism more than a hundred years ago;the philosophical concept cultivated by the professor in the quiet study may destroy a civilization. The supremacy of natural science has become the root cause of the crisis of human alienation.Against the background of this zeitgeist, the Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner(1861-1925)founded the anthroposophical theory with spirit as its core at the end of the nineteenth century.Anthroposophy is contrary to the Western cognitive tradition, placing human beings above the integrity and organicity of body, spirit, and soul, and regards the spirit that emerges from it as the manifestation of human nature. Therefore,it is particularly important to explore and study Steiner’s anthroposophical theory with spirit as the core in an era dominated by rationality and natural science. In the West, the explicit ideological tradition centered on rationality and the implicit ideological tradition centered on mysticism coexist.Anthroposophy criticizes the possession of human nature by pure ideas and thinking, and at the same time anthroposophy criticizes the mysticism that is completely based on inner experience as a tradition. The anthroposophical critically inherited two traditions, and surpassed the irrationality and limitations of the two,so Steiner called anthroposophy a spiritual science."Spirit" is the general summary of the universe and the transcendence of humans in that era.It is inseparable from the invisible state of life such as the soul and qi of the original people, and at the same time, people put the same on the nature of the universe.Steiner’s anthroposophy regards spirit as the inner essence of human beings and the world. This spirit is based on the existence of human life itself and on the basis of the ternary essence of body, spirit, and soul.It is integral and organic. The generation, development and transcendence of the spirit has its own potential order, and it is generated and expanded in the human subject "I".The occurrence of human inner spiritual experience is based on the observation of the external nature by the senses, and the creation of a creative spirit, and then the understanding of natural reality and goodness, and the spirit of not relying on external laws ultimately enables human freedom to be realized. The anthroposophical spirit is both realistic and transcendent.Steiner, contrary to the Christian tradition, seeks the traces of Christ from the inner spirit of humans.Based on the super-sensory world connected by the sensory world,he believes that the religious meaning of Christ does not lie in the external existence. It lies in the unity of human being with his inner spirit.Steiner called his anthroposophical theory "spiritual science",that is,using natural scientific methods to explain the spiritual reality of human beings.Regarding the philosophical and religious trends after traditional metaphysics,Steiner gave his own methods to light up the human spirit in the mist of nothingness. The spirit of Anthroposophy is based on individual life, but also faces the social level. Many modern Anthroposophy communities and Waldorf schools reflect the universal value of Anthroposophy theory with spirit as the core.
