At the beginning of the 20 th century,Chinese landscape painting was faced with the need for change of the times,and many outstanding landscape painters emerged under the call of the spirit of innovation,among which Li Keran’s artistic achievements were particularly remarkable.His exploration of spatial expression in landscape painting broke through the scope that traditional landscape painting failed to express,and opened up a new face of landscape painting.This paper focuses on the key period of Li Keran’s artistic transformation-his sketching from 1954 to 1959-and explores many issues of Li Keran’s spatial consciousness in landscape painting.Through comparative analysis of Chinese and Western cultures and paintings,comparative analysis of Li Keran’s artistic theories and typical works,and analysis of relevant historical documents,it finally clarifies the spatial consciousness of Li Keran’s sketching By comparing Chinese and Western culture and painting,comparing Li Keran’s art theory with typical works,and analyzing relevant historical literature,we finally clarify the extension and connotation of Li Keran’s spatial consciousness in landscape painting,excavate the formation factors and transformation paths of Li Keran’s spatial consciousness in sketching,and sort out and summarize the characteristics of Li Keran’s spatial structure and spatial techniques,so as to provide valuable references for subsequent theoretical researchers and painting practitioners.
