| Since 2011,China has implemented "the strategy for building up the strength of the nation through cultural development" for 11 years,promoting the all-round prosperity of Chinese culture undertakings as well as the rapid development of its cultural industry.In terms of the inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture,China has stepped into a new period of breakthrough following the period of highly emphasis on it and that of productive fruits.Since culture is where the value of documentary roots in,humanistic documentary is by-all-means a significant carrier of the national memory and culture.As a critical representative of Chinese traditional culture,tea embraces the attributes of commodity and culture dually and it has become one of globally-shared cultural symbols along with the further development of global trade.Choosing tea culture as the subject of this dissertation,the author is aimed at exploring methods to enhance the development of Chinese traditional culture in the new era by narrating the story of the new generation of tea-makers and tea undertakings in Su Dongpo’s hometown,which is also known as Meishan city in Sichuan Province.Based on the theories of narratology,semiology,and intercultural communication,this dissertation makes a summary and reflection by literature analysis,text analysis and content analysis.The introduction part includes the overview of Chinese humanistic documentary,particularly that of tea-culture-themed documentaries,and explains their research methods,approaches,innovations and significance as well.Chapter One serves as a summary of the creation of tea culture documentary and the related ones.Chapter Two,also the essence of the dissertation,adopts the personal work Step into Spring with Tea as the text to analyze its narrative strategy from multiple perspectives.Within the perspective of intercultural communication,Chapter Three comes up with a profound explanation of the intention as well as the function of the audiovisual elements selection in the film.Finally,the summary ideas on the creation of the graduation work are collected so as to provide inheritors who has highly cultural self-awareness with reference to cultural and creative practices. |
