The great variety of broadcast media makes animation easier to obtain in daily life,and its attraction and influence on preschool children is self-evident.Due to the high correlation between "animation-preschool children",animation has a profound impact on the physical and mental development of preschool children.High-quality animation is an effective way for parents to carry out education.As one of the three elements of animation creation,character design has important aesthetic value and a practical role in animation design.It not only meets the preschool children’s exploration and understanding of multiple character characteristics but also enables preschool children to have a certain understanding of society through role performance.It has theoretical significance for the animation creation of specific age groups discussed in this paper.Under the background of today’s era,"preschool children research",as a research topic of key groups,is a research perspective with far-reaching significance.The research on the animation role design of preschool children not only contributes to the sustainable and healthy development of children’s mental state and personality development but also promotes the relevant theoretical construction of preschool animation.This paper is divided into three main parts to discuss.In the first chapter,around the physical and mental development state of preschool in this special period,the second chapter focuses on combining the design theory with the animation samples in the current online film and television.Through the excavation of the details of the role design,it proves the influence of taking children as the first consideration in the animation design,to connect the arguments in the first chapter and carry on the echo before and after.The last chapter takes the concept of sustainable development of preschool children as the starting point and summarizes the characteristics of animation characters suitable for preschool children through the external and internal research of animation characters.The innovation focus of this paper is to combine the development characteristics of preschool children with preschool animation samples with high ratings on the online film and television platforms.It is not just for the generality of theory,but combined with the current situation of actual works,sort out and analyze the current age-appropriate animation,explore the characteristics of animation character preferences in this age group,and put forward the views and solutions to the problems.In the follow-up research,combined with the viewing data of each platform,the combination of theoretical research and practical exploration will play a positive role in the research and creation of age-appropriate animation images.Through the analysis of the above methods and innovations,this paper takes preschool children,an important animation audience,as the research object,explores the combination of preschool children and school-age animation,and shows the internal relationship between them.Preschool children are deeply influenced by animation,and animation creation is also controlled by the market to meet the preferences of the audience.The two are cause and effect,but to liberate and develop children,it is very important to explore and build a scientific and effective animation character design theory for the formation of sustainable development.
