The Influence Of Internet Use On Teenagers’ Environmental Behavior

At present,China’s ecological environment situation is grim,and environmental problems occur frequently.As the main force of building “beautiful China” in the future,teenagers’ environmental behavior is not ideal,showing the disunity knowing and doing.Internet integrates interpersonal communication and mass communication,permeates all aspects of teenagers’ life,and is undoubtedly a powerful tool to persuade them to implement environmental behavior.Therefore,this paper attempts to explore the influence mechanism of Internet use on teenagers’ environmental behavior,and provide some suggestions for promoting teenagers’ environmental behavior.Based on Social Cognitive Theory,the Theory of Planned Behavior and Knowledge Attitude Practice,this paper extracts four intermediary variables: environmental efficiency,environmental attitude,environmental subjective norms and environmental problem cognition,and constructs a research model of environmental related Internet use on teenagers’ environmental behavior.A total of 469 valid questionnaires were collected through the combination of online and offline questionnaires.After data cleaning and reliability and validity testing,the hypothesis of this study is verified by structural equation model and bootstrap nonparametric test.The results show that the Internet use related environmrntal can indeed have an impact on teenagers’ environmental behavior.This kind of influence is mainly through two ways:(1)Internet use directly affects the environmental behavior of teenagers;(2)Internet use indirectly affects the environmental behavior through four intermediary variables: environmental efficiency,environmental attitude,environmental subjective norms and environmental problem cognition.It can be seen that Internet use has great potential in environmental behavior intervention and promoting environmental behavior of teenagers.The results also confirm the role of Social Cognitive Theory,the Theory of Planned Behavior and Knowledge Attitude Practice in the formation of environmental behavior.These theories are all important theories for the study of individual behavior.They also have some explanatory power in the study of environmental behavior,which is of great significance for us to make full use of the huge potential of the Internet for intervention of teenagers’ environmental behavior.Therefore,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: first,make full use of the Internet media to increase teenagers’ awareness of environmental issues and promote teenagers to form a positive environmental attitude;second,strive to improve the environmental subjective norms of teenagers by setting environmental topics on social media and inviting opinion leaders such as stars to launch environmental protection calls to continue to form social public opinion and pressure;third,efforts should be made to enhance the environmental effectiveness of teenagers by setting up environmental protection examples on the Internet,and publicizing environmental protection cases to arouse awareness of environmental subjects.
