A Study Of The Turkish Greeks During The Justice And Development Party Rule

The Greeks of Turkey,as one of the religious minorities in Turkey,became an important factor in Turkish national security and its relations with Greece during the Ottoman era.Entering the ruling period of the Justice and Development Party(AKP),this situation continues.Therefore,this study will take the ruling period of the AKP as the entry point,try to sort out the origin,solution motivation,solution and present situation of the Greek problem in Turkey in this period,and give a prospect to reveal that the Greek of Turkey,as the subject with complex historical and geopolitical background,has always been a factor that has to be paid attention to in Turkey’s national construction and development process,and even an important force to restrain Turkey’s relations with Greece.The article is divided into three parts to study the issue of the Turkish Greeks during the AKP.The first part is the introduction,mainly expounds the background,significance,domestic and foreign research status,research ideas and characteristics.The second part consists of four chapters.The first chapter traces the emergence of the Greek problem in Turkey on the basis of the ethnic differences in Ottoman history and the national identity in the Republic period.The second chapter expounds the motivation of AKP to solve the Greek problem by analyzing domestic and foreign factors.Chapter III describes the Government’s specific measures to solve the two major issues of infringement and discrimination,and then use the status quo of the Greeks in Turkey to show that the Greek problem has not been completely resolved,the situation of the Greeks has not been comprehensively improved.The fourth chapter summarizes the long-term nature and complexity of the problem and analyzes the difficulty of solving the Greek problem.The third part is the conclusion,through a systematic combing of the above parts,it is pointed out that although the Greek problem has been solved to a certain extent during the AKP period,it is difficult to improve effectively in the short term because of the influence of Turkey’s historical origin,national concept and Turkish-Chinese relations.
