After Argentina’s Videla military government came to power in 1976,it launched a "Dirty War" against social opposition forces to maintain its authoritarian rule,during which the military government created a large number of the disappeared persons by kidnapping,murder and other means.Against this background,on April 30,1977,the mothers of the disappeared persons decided to hold a rally in the Plaza de Mayo in front of the government in Buenos Aires to protest against the repression of the military government and to demand an account of the whereabouts of the disappeared persons.Since then,meetings have been held regularly.Although the mothers had to face pressure and threats from their families,society and the military government,they actively sought help and took various measures to deal with it.Thanks to the efforts of the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo and human rights organizations,the influence of the movement continued to expand,and the human rights issues in Argentina began to receive international attention.In the process of the movement also came into being the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association and the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association.The military government was forced to step down after its defeat in the Falklands War between Britain and Argentina.The new government began trials of military personnel in 1983,but the trials continued under Cristina Kirchner.After the end of the "Dirty War",the mothers,while demanding the trial of military government personnel,actively launched the search for the disappeared persons,especially missing grandchildren,and achieved some success.At the same time,the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo actively cooperated with the surrounding areas and the international community in the field of human rights.With the joint efforts of relevant organizations and the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo,they finally promoted the creation of the relevant international conventions on "enforced disappearance" and "identity".The first chapter describes the "Dirty War" waged by Argentina’s Videla military government and the birth of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Movement in 1977.Second chapter combed the during 1977 to 1982 the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo meet obstacles threats and countermeasures against them,this paper introduces the formed in the process of struggle The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association and The Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association and the movement of the representative,as well as analyzed the carter government human rights diplomacy to the domestic human rights issues.The third chapter discusses the long and twists and turns of the trial against the military government by Alfangsin,Menem and Kirchner after the military government collapsed in 1983.The mothers of the Plaza de Mayo took an active part in the trial process and worked with human rights groups to promote the "truth trial" and to achieve results in the search for the missing persons.In this process,the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo took a new step.The fourth chapter mainly evaluates the influence of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Movement.
