Dworkin’s Theory Of Euthanasia Right

Since the first case of "euthanasia" in China,the controversies about "euthanasia" in the field of medical ethics,judicial practice and legal theory have never ceased.Chinese scholars have launched a lasting debate on whether to legalize "euthanasia".Despite the achievements,no scholar has ever put forward a complete set of basic theories about "euthanasia" to endorse "euthanasia".Dworkin,on the other hand,explores a new approach from the sanctity of life to the exercise of autonomy,and finally,he puts forward a set of integrated and complete theory of euthanasia right,which provides a new direction for the discussion of euthanasia.This paper firstly summarizes Dworkin’s euthanasia theory system.From the perspective of the sanctity and intrinsic value of life,Dworkin has laid the keynote that people need to cherish life and treat life seriously.Based on this premise,Dworkin believes that we can’t have an abortion at will,nor can we commit suicide at will,but this does not mean that people can’t do anything about their lives.On the contrary,Dworkin believes that to live a good life,we must make life choices independently.A good life is not only about food and clothing,but also a kind of planning and self-realization of life value.To measure whether a person’s life is wasted is not only to realize the benefits of experience,but more importantly,whether the critical interests are damaged.Everyone will make life choices based on their own key interests and lead different lives,which requires people to fully exercise their integrity autonomy,rather than evidence-based autonomy.Secondly,this paper combed out how to solve the difficult problems in the practice of "euthanasia" in the face of different forms of life according to Dworkin’s theory,and responded to some challenges faced by Dworkin’s euthanasia right theory.Finally,Dworkin’s theory as a guide to discuss its reference to China’s significance.
