In order to enrich the empirical research results of high echelon team theory and explore the impact of senior managers’ experience in the military on the innovation performance of enterprises,this paper reviews and combs the relevant literature in the fields of enterprise innovation,military characteristics and personal characteristics of senior managers,adopts the model of combination of qualitative research and quantitative research,takes the theory of high echelon team as the core and social identity theory as the auxiliary to study the military experience This paper explores the influence of senior managers’ personal cognitive model on their behavior,and explores the transmission path from senior managers’ behavior to enterprise innovation performance.Based on the research hypothesis,this paper selects the sample of China’s A-share listed companies from2007 to 2017,empirically studies the impact of senior managers with military experience on enterprise innovation performance through OLS regression model,conducts robustness test through PSM tendency value matching method,divides performance excellent group and performance poor group based on tendency value,and empirically studies the industry characteristics and recognition combining the annual report,speech and other text materials How the knowledge model affects the innovation performance of enterprises at the micro level.This study finds that: first,the Chinese military gives the servicemen the cognitive model of collectivism;second,the innovation performance of enterprises with senior managers’ experience in the military is lower;third,in the relationship between senior managers’ experience in the military and the innovation performance of enterprises,the property right attribute regulates the two;fourth,in different industries,the cognitive model of collectivism affects the alienation of innovation performance.The research inspiration for the high echelon theory is: first,the individual selective cognitive model in the high echelon theory has plasticity;second,the selective cognitive model in the high echelon theory and the enterprise system influence each other;third,the selective cognitive model in the high echelon theory and the environment match.The research inspiration for the management practice: first,we should optimize the existing military innovative skills training system;second,we should improve the enterprise innovation performance through the system design;third,we should have a reasonable view of the relationship between enterprise innovation performance and enterprise management.
