The Contribution And Enlightenment Of Marx And Engels’ Eight Letters To Historical Materialism

Historical materialism has always occupied an important position in Marxist theory,and it is also the cornerstone of understanding all Marxist theories.Marx and Engels,the founders of Marxism,have made great growth.We must learn to historical thinking.Studying classics is a compulsory course to improve the theoretical level and working ability.As one of the important classic works of Marxism,Marx and Engels’ correspondence on historical materialism is for us to correctly understand the nature,characteristics,and content of it,to criticize various distortions and misunderstandings,and to correctly analyze historical materialism Solving real problems is of great significance.This article mainly selects three letters from Marx which focus on historical materialism and five letters from Engels’ later years.The eight historical materialist letters are mainly studied from three aspects.The first section sorts out the content,connection and writing background of the eight historical materialist letters,and attation on the context of the writing of the letters.The second section expound the central idea of the eight letters,containing that historical materialism is a holistic method;economic factors are the decisive factors of historical development process;independence and reaction of the relatives of the superstructure and so on;The third part explores the development and improvement of historical materialism in eight letters and the principles and methods revealed in the process,guides our scientific understanding and adheres to the basic principles of historical materialism,and actively responds to various questions and challenges.Contributions made;Finally,based on the above content,discuss the enlightenment under the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the modern age.Researching this substance is a prerequisite,but it is more important to master its methods.Scientifically use historical materialism to guide today’s practice,constantly develop it in the practice.
