| Aristotle’s political party contention is Aristotle’s basic understanding and viewpoint on a series of political struggles between different factions within the city-state on the highest ruling power.Aristotle’s political party struggle is rooted in the declining reality of the Greek city-state democratic politics, and at the same time has a profound theoretical origin, such as the evolving concept of the Justice, the concept of the Mean and the concept of democratic reform of legislators in the history of Greece.Aristotle inherited and developed these ideas, put forward the realization of the "Good" political goal, and integrated it into the study of the real city-state,and gradually formed a unique view on the political party contention of the city-state.Aristotle’s political party contention has a clear logical structure and a complete content system.Under the guidance of the idea of the "Good",Aristotle carried out a concrete analysis of the realistic problems of the city-states: Aristotle analyzed the class composition, the causes of the regime change and the related preservation measures of most existing city-states through the field investigation of the real city-states.On these basis,Aristotle described the blueprint of the ideal city-state,but he pointed out that the real society does not have the conditions to achieve this ideal regime, and he turned the focus of the study to the realistic feasibility of the regime study.By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various regimes,Aristotle pointed out that a republic "ruled by the middle class —— mixed with the oligarchy and the civil system" is the most stable, and the class relations are the most harmonious. The distribution within the city-state is closer to the Good, which can effectively alleviate the disputes between the city-state parties and help to realize the "Good" life of the city-state.In addition,Aristotle emphasized the role of rule of law and civic education in the maintenance of the Good polity. He believed that good rule of law and virtuous citizens are the basic conditions for the formation of the Good city-state and the important factors to restrain party contending. The interpretation of the ideas of the "Good "," Mean ","Mixed Regime" and "Rule of Law and Education" in Aristotle’s political party struggle has great theoretical value, which deeply affects the thinking of political problems by later thinkers.Even after a thousand years,Aristotle’s political party contention is still of great significance to our understanding of western party politics and democratic politics, which is worthy of our further exploration and study. |
