| Zaozhuang,a city lies in southern Shandong Province,is known for its abundant coal wealth and red revolutionary history of the War of Resistance against Japan.Though Zaozhuang was known as the “coal city” in China,it was then defined as a "resource-exhausted city" by the State Council in March 2009 because of the depletion of coal resources.As a result of depletion of coal resources and the failure of non-coal industries to make up the loss,economic slowdown as well as increasing unemployment rate ensued.This development pattern that depends too much on resources exploitation brings issues like unbalanced industrial structure and the lack of urban functions.As an important part of the service sector,sport industry plays a significant role in regional economic development,industrial structure optimization and upgrading,employment and refinement of urban infrastructures.However,the industrial environment condition of branch categories of sport industry vary from one to another.Here are some questions we need to think about:(1)Is Zaozhuang fit for the sport industry to develop?(2)which kind of branch industries of sport is suitable for Zaozhuang to cultivate?(3)How to plan the development of Zaozhuang’s sport industry?This thesis analyzes the sport industry of Zaozhuang.Sorting external environment by the methods of literature review,interviews.Collecting 100 sports venues and facilities,69 sports training institutions 63 sports events in 2019 by field survey.Analysis on the development distribution of sports industry in Zaozhuang.Through the research,it draws five conclusions:First,Zaozhuang city has the foundation to develop sports industry.But huge gaps of exterior environment between districts exist.According to the industrial environment and existing sports resources,Tengzhou city,Shizhong district and Xuecheng district are able to develop sports industry.Second,the sports industry of Zaozhuang city is still in primary stage.The sports market in Zaozhuang city mainly consists of the operation of gyms,sports training and sports events organization.The gyms,training institutions and coaches centered in developed districts.The sports events are mainly mass-participated events,lacking big influential events and local events with brand influence.Third,the sports industry in Zaozhuang city in current stage should conform to comparative advantage theory,make full use of local conventional resources with low cost and meet the daily sports consumption demands of residents so that achieve capital accumulation of industry and the upgrading consumption demand.At the present stage,Zaozhuang doesn’t enjoy advantages in the competition of core resources.It means higher cost of entry and risk of operation if it develops sports industry based on core resources.Fourth,the distribution of sports industry in Zaozhaung city is mainly two steps: first is fundamental industrial distribution and second is district-based industrial distribution.The fundamental industrial distribution,based on comparative advantage theory,formulates primary planning of industrial distribution in accordance with the industry environment and the stock of sports resources in the whole city.Based on the fundamental industrial distribution and primary development of sports industry,the latter theory conducts structural adjustment in line with its own features.Here are some proposals to promote the more appropriate development of the sports industry in Zaozhuang.(1)The sports industry in Zaozhuang city develops in light with the comparative advantages and the consumption demands of the public.(2)Pay attention to the long-term and dynamic performance of the distribution of the sports industry(3)The rationality of the distribution of Zaozhuang’sports industry will be tested in the process of consumption.(4)Governments should be clear about the entities and let them play a leading role in the development of sports industry. |
