| At present,under the background of China’s Ministry of Educati-on’s development to create“Golden lessons”in China,the level of university faculty’s own teaching ability has gradually received at-tention.However,although the new faculties in our country have the corresponding subject and professional knowledge,there are still some problems such as weak teaching ability and less scientific res-earch experience.Therefore,it is necessary to carry out induction training for the new faculties.The United States was the first to implement induction training for new university facullties and has achieved remarkable results.The induction training for new faculti-es in American universities has clear training objectives,rich tra-ining contents,diversified training methods and perfect guarantee.On the basis of previous research results,this study takes the induction training of new faculties in American universities(this paper mainly studies the comprehensive universities in the United States)as the starting point,and through literature analysis,com-parative analysis and case analysis,analyzes the objectives,conte-mts,methods and guarantees of the induction training of new faculti es in American universities,and sums up four experiences of the in-duction training of new teachers in American universities:first,the faculty development organization of American universities focuse s on serving faculties to help new faculties adapt to the role of faculties and improve their teaching ability;Secondly,the inducti-on training for new faculties in American universities is highly professional and the training content is oriented to the needs of new faculties.Third,there are various training methods and pay attention to the training effect.Fourth,the university provides re s-ource support for new faculties and evaluates training in a timely manner.At present,the training objectives of new faculties’ induc-tion training in universities in China are unclear.The training content belittles the cultivation of the teaching ability that the new faculties should possess,mainly focusing on improving the theo-retical knowledge of the new faculties;The training methods are relatively single,mostly short-term centralized training;The unive rsit-ies in our country lack the guarantee to match the new faculti-es’ iduction training.Therefore,on the basis of learning from the experience of new faculties’induction training in American univers-ities and combining with the current situation and shortcomings in our country,we can draw some enlightenment:first,universities should attach equal importance to teaching and research,and faculty development agencies should enhance service awareness to help new faculties adapt to the role of faculties and be competent for teach-ing posts;Second,the training content should pay attention to the needs of new faculties and focus on enhancing their teaching skills.Third,enrich training methods and stimulate new faculties’ interest in learning.Fourth,universities should provide new faculties with resource support and scientifically evaluate training activities. |
