| As an important carrier of children’s socialization learning,picture books are effective tools to help children construct the spiritual world and convey social values and consciousness.3-6 years old is the critical period for the formation and development of children’s gender roles.The stereotyped views on gender roles projected in picture books will make children unconsciously imitate learning and have an important impact on children’s gender roles cognition and gender roles socialization.Therefore,it is of great significance for the development of children’s gender roles to pay attention to the issue of gender roles in children’s picture books and explore whether the concept of gender awareness conveyed in children’s picture books is correct.In this study,80 children’s picture books suitable for children 3-6 years old to read and appreciate were selected as the research object,and the gender roles in the children’s picture books were analyzed by literature method and text analysis method.Through the statistical analysis of the frequency of different gender roles and the frequency of different genders playing the leading role in children’s picture books,at the same time,it classifies and counts the contents of the external image,the character characteristics,the ascribed roles and acquired roles of the characters in the picture book,and the role analysis of children of different genders,discusses the problems existing in the gender role of picture book and the causes of these problems,and then puts forward suggestions from two aspects of creation and teaching.Through the research,the following problems are found in the gender roles of picture books: first,there are differences in the number of gender roles in children’s picture books;second,there are obvious differences in the social roles of men and women;third,there are gender stereotypes in picture books.The main causes of these problems are the influence of social culture,the gender unconsciousness of the creator of picture books,and the lack of attention to the gender perspective by the experts in judging picture books.In view of the gender role problem in picture books,thefollowing suggestions are put forward from the aspects of creation and teaching:the creators should establish the correct gender consciousness,pay attention to gender equality in the design of the picture books content;the evaluation experts should establish the consciousness of gender criticism;preschool teachers should enhance gender equality consciousness,interpret the role of picture books in a diversified way,and identify gender equality picture books. |
