Most people spend their childhood and youth in schools,which has left more or less thoughts.Campus is not only a place for learning knowledge,cultivating sentiment and molding character,but also an important space for students’ development.Whether the layout of campus space can meet the needs of people for space,the development of education and the development of campus space construction in the new era,and whether the value orientation of campus space conforms to the development of schools and the needs of teachers and students,is a problem that cannot be ignored by educators.In fact,there are some unreasonable phenomena in the design,planning,function,aesthetics and other aspects of the campus spatial layout our middle school.The value orientation of the campus spatial layout is deviated,and the educational and cultural characteristics of campus spatial layout are not insufficient,so the theoretical and practical aspects of campus space need to be further improved.Therefore,we cannot help but make people reflect: How is the spatial layout of the middle school campus reality? What factors affect the campus spatial layout? What the value orientation does campus spatial layout embody?In order to observe the layout and value orientation of middle school campus space,this paper takes Q middle school as the research object.This paper adopts qualitative research methods,mainly through observation,interview,questionnaire survey and grounded theory,to conduct in-depth research on the spatial layout of Q middle school.According to the functional division of the campus space,this paper analyzes the realistic patterns of the teaching office space,the life service space and the sports space in turn,the main factors that influence the layout of campus space are summarized as follows: first,the planning and investment of government departments;second,the designers of the campus;third,the regional conditions;fourth,the educational concept;fifth,the space consciousness of the educators,and so on.This paper analyzes the value orientation of the spatial layout of the middle school campus presents the office space for teaching of the educational orientation and the student development orientation,the life service space of the practical convenient orientation,the aesthetic orientation and the human-environment interaction orientation,safety-oriented and open-oriented sports space.It is found that the campus spatial layout of Q middle school can be considered from the aspects of safety and practicality,lighting,ventilation could meet the needs of students’ development;the functional zones are basically clear and can play their respective functions;the campus landscape greening space has a high degree of comfort and deeply loved andrecognized by teachers and students.However,the layout of campus space still cannot fully reflect the needs and characteristics of students,and cannot meet the requirements of development of quality education.Therefore,teachers and students have a poor overall feeling of the campus spatial layout.First,the teaching space is not perfect;second,the campus space exists environmental interference;third,the space of campus activities is insufficient.In short,the campus spatial layout is not reasonable,the space quality is not high,the lack of characteristics and human interest,the lack of educational and cultural penetration,"student-oriented" value orientation needs to be strengthened.The construction of campus spatial layout in middle schools should proceed from the students’ standpoint,based on the healthy development of students to improve the quality of campus space by three aspects: it should be guided by the value to enhance the educational charm of the campus spatial layout;and it should be attention to details to endow the campus spatial layout with vitality;then it can take advantage of interactive opportunities to expand the educational breadth of campus spatial layout to improve the quality of campus space.
