A Study On The Promotion Of The Sense Of Belonging Of The Elderly In Social Welfare Institutions With Photovoice

The elderly living in social welfare institutions generally face the problem of belonging and are neglected relatively in the service process,who have difficulty in in-depth communication owing to the difference in cognition and expression.Such kind of belonging tends to be not helpful to establish good social network and social support system,which will affect the satisfaction and happiness of the elderly living in social welfare institutions.On the one hand,traditional methods of intervention on belonging,such as cognitive behavioral therapy requires the elderly to have a certain ability of expression,which is not suitable for the elderly groups who are not good at expression in welfare institutions,is not conducive to the investigators to fully and truly understand the sense of belonging of the elderly,and affects the comprehensiveness and authenticity of the survey results.;on the other hand,these methods pay more attention to the personal reasons but lack of intervention on the environmental reasons in face of social problems.In this paper,the image transmission method was used to conduct intervention on the belonging of the elderly living in social welfare institutions.Firstly,the effectiveness of this method in intervening with belonging was explored;secondly,the operational principle of this intervention method was analyzed,which provided practical enlightenment for this method.Moreover,the case study on the belonging of the elderly living in social welfare institutions was conducted.In terms of the intervention method,the image transmission method was used;in terms of intervention form,the form of group activity was adopted;in terms of intervention contents,the social consciousness,social behavior and the environment of social welfare institution were contained;in terms of intervention evaluation,target behavior observation and recording method was mainly used to measure the belonging of the research subjects and descriptive statistical analysis was conducted on the behavior observation result,based on comparing the behavioral change before and after intervention,the intervention effect was judged.The research results:(1)The living environment of the elderly was closed and narrow,which restricted the development of their social network;(2)The current nursing service for the elderly mainly met with their survival demand but failed to satisfy their demand of self-realization;(3)The social participation of the elderly was the main reason for their belonging;(4)The image transmission method could improve the belonging of the elderly and strengthen their social behaviors to a certain extent.We put forward a series of methods and suggestions that welfare institutions should pay attention to improving the living environment of institutional elders,paying attention to their interpersonal relationship,and enhancing their social participation.Finally,we hope to promote their sense of belonging.
