Ritual in colleges and universities,as an important carrier of university campus culture,can strongly demonstrate the spirit of the university and promote a sense of cultural identity.At the same time,as one of the crutial forms of university education,it plays an irreplaceable role in the process of cultivating talents.To explore the connotation,constituent elements,functional characteristics,goals,and value pursuits of ritual in universities,research methods like literature analysis,questionnaires,and comparative studies were unused,supplemented by field observation.This research can help with current plight of ritual education of Chinese universities,extending the connotation,enhancing the standardization and humanism of ritual education and improving the quality of higher education.Plus,it can help college students to realize their own identity,campus culture,and social core values.Therefore,reach the goal of cultivating talent in colleges and universities.After using SPSS software to analyze the questionnaire data of current status of ritual education,it is concluded that ritual education in China still faces the following practical dilemmas: First,the lack of innovative features of ritual education in colleges and universities.Priority on formality and go easy on the content with weak characteristics;the second is that the ritual education is rich in instrumentation and lacks interactivity,the lacking of ceremonial power leads to the emotional resonance is lacking;the third is that students’ participation in ritual is insufficient,the sense of participation is weak,the degree of participation is low,and the effect of participation is not significant;Fourth,the tendency of simplification of ceremonial education in colleges is severe and with poor appeal.By facing the real dilemma of ritual education in China’s colleges and universities,and combining the results of reasonable experience at home and abroad,the improvement of the effectiveness of ritual education in China’s colleges and universities were considered.It is guided by the macro level at the conceptual level,from the three levels of subject,content and system.The optimal paths are obtained:first,carrying on the excellent national tradition of ritual education,grasping the main points of long-term implementation;second,respecting the needs of students and improving the value recognition of the subject,not only the whole ritual process must run through a life-based education concept.Relevant personnel should first demonstrateand attach importance to and participate in ritual education.The third is to improve the content and form,promote characteristic ritual education,enhance the novelty and interaction of ritual education in content,and advance the form and innovate ritual education methods.Improve relevant rules and regulations,create a good educational atmosphere,and improve the incentive guarantee mechanism,and establish a sound ritual education evaluation feedback system,so as to stimulate the participation of various participating groups.
