| Under the dual background of low development quality and transition to market economy,the scale of informal employment keeps expanding and occupies an important position in the labor market.With the change of employment concept and the development of the Internet,the forms of informal employment are further diversified,and informal employment will continue to contribute to economic development.Previous researches mainly focused on the division of informal employment groups,the statistical employment scale,and the wage difference with formal employment.This paper focuses on the study of informal workers’ happiness level and how to improve the subjective well-being of workers.Firstly,based on the existing literature,this paper sorts out the concepts,measurement standards,relevant theories and other contents of informal employment and subjective well-being,as well as the relationship between informal employment and subjective well-being and the influencing mechanism,thus laying a theoretical foundation for the empirical analysis below.In this paper,CLDS data is used to construct the ordered Probit model for the overall analysis of informal employment.The results show that the subjective well-being of informal workers is significantly lower than that of regular workers.However,heterogeneity was found when the samples were divided into other-employed and self-employed samples,and the differences in subjective well-being between formal employment and informal employment were compared in their respective scopes.Consider to choose informal employment is not a random behavior,to correct happiness differences due to different initial conditions,using the method of PSM further estimate the informal employment influence on subjective well-being,the results also show that under his hire samples,informal employment significantly lower the subjective well-being of laborer,but self-employed samples did not differ significantly between the two.There is no significant difference in the results of average treatment effect after using various matching methods.Secondly,this paper continues to explore the mechanism through which informal employment influences subjective well-being.Through literature review and theoretical basis,it is concluded that informal employment influences subjective well-being through three aspects: work income,working hours and work welfare level.This paper applies the parallel mediating effect model to analyze.The results show that,under the sample of his employment,work income,working hours and work benefits are the important mechanisms affecting the happiness of informal employment.For self-employed people,the mediating effect of work income and work welfare is significant.They have a high degree of autonomy in determining their working hours and take the initiative to extend their working hours.Finally,according to the research conclusion,combining with China’s actual economic development and labor market situation,the following policy Suggestions are put forward.The government provides training services in line with local market development and the diverse needs of workers,so as to provide more employment opportunities and choices for workers.Aiming at the informal workers under the self-employment sample,the government should also provide them with preferential policies and supporting information services to improve the market environment of self-employment informal employment.Set flexible working hours to encourage a fighting spirit without compromising physical health.At the same time,gradually improve the social security and other welfare levels related to the informal employment group and relevant laws and regulations to safeguard labor rights and interests to improve the subjective well-being of the informal employment group. |
