Since the 1990 s,with the adjustment and upgrading of China's economic structure, the continuous promotion of the reform of state-owned enterprises and the acceleration of urbanization, there has been a remarkable change in the labor market in our country. That is,the scale of informal employment has been constantly growing. This group is generally considered to be unfairly treated in the labor market. The joint publication of the 2016 Global Happiness Index Report by the United Nations and the Earth Institute at Columbia University in the United States has revealed that the equal opportunity of society has a significant impact on the subjective well-being of residents and that uneven employment opportunities are an important manifestation of social inequality one. This article compares and analyzes the subjective well-being of informal and formal employees from the perspectives of overall and distinguishing different types of informal employment groups.First of all,the paper analyzes the influence mechanism of informal employment on residents' subjective well-being in theory. Then, based on the micro-survey data and the propensity-value matching method,it analyzes the impact of informal employment on subjective well-being of residents. In the application of the method, the first step of this paper is to select the suitable matching variables through the stepwise regression method and get the propensity score through the binary logit model. The second step is based on the propensity value obtained in the previous step, using nearest neighbor matching and caliper matching And Mahalanobis distance to match the data. The third step is to balance the matching data, including numerical test and graphic test. The fourth step is to use the ordered logistic model to conduct regression analysis on the matched data. The main conclusions reached are as follows: Overall, there is no significant difference between the subjective well-being of informal workers and those of regular employees.Specifically, only the subjective well-being of informal self-employed and regular employed workers There was no significant difference in sense, but informal self-employed and non-regular employees had significantly lower subjective well-being than formal employers;an increase in academic qualifications helped to increase informal informal employment and nonregular self-employed Subjective well-being;the average daily working hours significantly affect the subjective well-being of employees;the significant U-shaped relationship between subjective well-being and age;the national income is still the key factor that affects the subjective well-being of current residents;Party members and married couples have the potential to enhance the subjective well-being of residents. The type of hukou and the existence of religious beliefs can not play a significant role in the subjective well-being of residents.
