After the layout adjustment on compulsory education in rural areas in 2012 by the State Council,the rural small-scale schools in the major form of village schools and teaching points have been reserved and developed,which become the important component of rural education.As the main force of rural small-scale school education,the professional development of rural teachers is the important guarantee of promoting the rural education quality.Therefore,it is necessary urgent for us to focus on the professional development on small-scale school teachers.The research took the teacher’s professional quality structure and professional development standard of Ye Lan Scholar as the theoretical basis,which divided the teacher professional development into professional concept,professional knowledge and professional ability.The survey adopted questionnaire survey method,combined with interviews and field observation to investigate the status of professional development of teachers in rural small-scale schools in S County.And it concluded the existing problems of professional development,and analyzed the influential factors,finally gived the countermeasures and suggestions which were beneficial to the teacher professional development.The questionnaire involved the basic information of teachers,professional development status and influential factors on professional development.in the combination of interview,the status,influential factors and professional growth demand were further acknowledged.Besides,the writer went deep into the local small-scale school by the filed observation and investigated the material life environment of teachers.The survey indicated that,in the professional development of small-scale school teachers,the professional concept dimensionality existed the low rural teacher identity recognition,poor individual professional development consciousness and ignored personalized development of students;the professional knowledge dimensionality focused on incomprehension of the advanced education theory and the lack of the child psychology knowledge and full disciplinary knowledge;in the professional ability dimensionality,the insufficient teaching design ability,the lack ofhmanagement ability of preschool class and “fusion” class,and the low education research ability.Based on the above-mentioned problems,the passage analyzed the factors of teacher’s professional development from the aspects of administration,school and individuals.From the administration aspect,the material guarantee were not enough,the teacher structure was vacant and the training was disjointed from learning.From the school aspect,the professional development of teachers couldnot be concentrated,the professional learning atmosphere was weak,“the contradiction between working and learning” and platform construction were not enough,and the development prospect of the school was not clear.From the individual aspect,the passage emphasized on the job burnout,inadequate professional development initiative,the lack of teachers’ basic quality.On the basis of above investigation,the writer proposed the targeted countermeasures and suggestions on the professional development problems of small-scale school teachers in rural areas.Firstly,the government shall improve the teacher’s material guarantee,increase the economic input and accurate training,strengthen the professional development system guarantee and establish the interschool cooperation research and studies alliance.Secondly,schools should focus on the teacher’s professional development,create the learning atmosphere for the teacher’s development;widen the professional development means and establish the professional development support for teachers;explore the characteristic school development,stabilize the practical environment of professional development.Finally,teachers themselves should establish the idea of lifelong learning,plan the career development rationally;and introspect the education teaching and promote the individual level promotion.
