| At present, the domestic economic development begins to develop in the direction of internal demand driving force as the core. The consumption of rural residents has an important impact on the overall consumption level of our country. With a large population base in rural areas, developing rural areas, leading rural areas to prosperity, strengthening the overall expansion of rural consumption market, effectively stimulating consumption, expanding domestic demand, and stimulating economic growth are the only way for China’s economic development in the future.Only by comprehensively improving the economic development speed can we better improve it Living standards in rural areas. Therefore,it is very important for China’s economic development to enhance the consumption of rural residents, reasonably guide them to improve their consumption level and scientifically optimize their consumption structure.Under the development trend of industrial urbanization in China, the non-agricultural employment of rural labor force has gradually become a major direction of development, and it is irreversible.Compared with other countries, domestic agricultural labor still accounts for a large proportion(Cai Fang,2018).In the process of urbanization and rural revitalization, the non-agricultural employment of rural labor force has become the key step.At the same time, the non-agricultural employment of rural surplus labor force can not only respond to the national employment policy, but also play an important role in rural consumption, stimulating economic growth and improving the living standards of rural residents.Based on the theories of non-agricultural employment and rural residents’ consumption, this paper uses the methods of literature research and quantitative analysis to sort out the domestic and foreign research literature on rural residents’ non-agricultural employment and consumption, and clearly defines the core concepts of non-agricultural employment and consumption structure.Using the propensity score matching model, the consumption types of rural residents are divided into three aspects: survival consumption, enjoyment consumption and development consumption. The changes of rural residents’ total consumption and consumption structure under non-agricultural employment are analyzed in depth. It is found that non-agricultural employment can promote rural residents’ consumption. The sub-sample study found that the consumption level and consumption structure of rural households of different ages and different regions are affected differently by non-agricultural employment. The higher the age,the smaller the impact.Compared with the rural residents in non-eastern areas, the consumption structure and consumption level of rural residents in eastern areas are less affected by non-agricultural employment. Therefore,in view of rural residents’ consumption,we should improve their consumption level and optimize their consumption structure through the transfer of rural surplus labor force. The possible innovation of this paper lies in the perspective of topic selection and the innovation of research contents. This paper studies the consumption differences of rural residents under non-agricultural employment from the perspective of rural residents at the micro level.Meanwhile,it divides the consumption types into three types: survival consumption, development consumption and enjoyment consumption, and discusses the impact of non-agricultural employment on the consumption of rural residents by type.It is conducive to further exploring the impact of non-agricultural employment on rural residents’ consumption. |
