Research On The Cultivation Of Ideal And Belief Of College Students By Red Story Narration

“Empty Heart Disease”and“Sang Culture”,manifestations of the subculture among modern college students,are characterized by their indifference to mainstream beliefs,alienation from ideals,and avoidance of social reality,etc.These phenomena also imply a crisis in nature,which has increasingly attracted the attention from all walks of life.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study the cultivation of ideals and beliefs among college students.Taking red stories as narrative text,it provides a new vision for colleges and universities to effectively carry out the cultivation of college students’ ideals and beliefs。The narrative of patriotic stories provides methodological guidance for universities to educate their students with ideas and beliefs.Combining patriotic stories with narrative group therapy,it emphasizes the externalization of problems and helps individuals to find resources and strength to cope with those problems.Also,it is highly compatible with the stage characteristics of the psychological development of our college students,which can not only help improve their psychological health,but also to a certain extent,provide new ideas for their cultivation in the new era.Therefore,this study uses a cross-disciplinary research approach.Based on the understanding of the current mental state of students through surveys,it adopts the narratives of patriotic stories for group therapy intervention,so as to further explore the applications of this approach.A total of 420 students from a Xi’an university were surveyed by means of convenience sampling,and 60 subjects with low levels of ideals and beliefs and psychological health were screened out through the Ideals&Beliefs Scale and the University Personality Inventory(UPI),and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group,with 30 for each.The experimental group was given a seven-week group therapy intervention via patriotic story narratives,which lasted 90-120 minutes once a week.By contrast,the control group was given regular education.After seven weeks,the two groups were tested with the same scales,and their effectiveness was assessed and analyzed using the group feedback and the satisfaction questionnaire.The data obtained were processed through Excel 2007 and SPSS 23.0,with the results as follows.1.The overall psychological health of modern college students is good,and their ideals and beliefs generally show a positive trend,basically conforming to the requirements of the times.However,against the current multicultural background,there also exist some problems,reflecting that some students have a blurred and unswerving political faith and a certain degree of lack of.ideals and beliefs.2.The mental health level of college students is significantly positively correlated with the four dimensions of ideal and belief(personal belief,firmness of ideal and belief,life value and career choice)(P<0.01).The psychological health of college students is significantly and positively correlated with their ideals and beliefs,i.e.,improving one’s psychological health can also advance his ideas and beliefs to a certain extent.3.The analysis of the experimental data and the subjective feelings of the subjects both show that patriotic story narratives can effectively improve the ideals and beliefs of college students Against a background of multiculturalism nowadays,the ideals and beliefs of college students are generally good,but there also exit some problems,and a small number of students have vague ideals and beliefs as well as unswerving political faiths.4.The cultivation path of red narrative to college students’ ideals and beliefs can be started from the following five aspects:adhere to the people-oriented approach and pay attention to the growth of college students;To create a harmonious environment and deepen the blending of situations;Pay attention to story metaphor,achieve reasonable integration;Emphasize the externalization of problems and tap the positive potential;Use red story skillfully,sublimate emotion cognition.Ideal and faith are the lighthouse of college students’ life.They must arm their minds with scientific theories and cultivate their spiritual home continuously.The ideal and belief education of college students is a systematic project,and all departments must work together to achieve the goal of education.Only in this way can we achieve the ultimate goal of promoting the ideals and beliefs of college students in the new era.
