| Board game is a kind of offline entertainment with good cultural transmission properties.The popularity of mobile Internet has impacted the development of offline entertainment industry.At the same time,users’demand for offline entertainment is still strong.This study selects board games as the carrier of cultural communication for research and design,aiming to enrich offline entertainment and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.This paper reviews the development process of structural metaphor,studies the theory of structural metaphor,excavates its cognitive principles,s its principles into the cognitive process model of designers and receivers,and summarizes three key processes of structural metaphor as a design method:constructing target domain,constructing source domain,and establishing mapping.The key condition of mapping is the identity of the target domain and the source domain.On the basis of theoretical research,we have completed the collection and collation of Confucius related culture,and refined it into four main parts:benevolence and propriety,Confucius’ social ideal of great harmony and well-off,Confucius’ disciples’ four subjects and ten philosophies,and Confucius’ life story,and sorted the logical structure of these four parts of cultural content into the target domain of board game design.On the basis of the research of target users and use scenarios,the categories and basic framework of board games are determined according to the established cultural target domain.The basic rules of board games are designed by using the method of structural metaphor,and the prototype of cooperative round strategy board games based on Confucius related culture is made.Taking the design prototype as the starting point,this study carried out the early self-test and group test,a total of more than 30 people,and constantly improved the design of board game rules in the test process.Then according to the Spring and Autumn period clothing,characters,symbols and other characteristics,as well as the life information of the characters in the game,the game layout and character cards and other game components are designed.Finally,we test the usability of the board game products online and offline for a total of 6 games with 23 users.After continuous testing iterations,we complete the cultural board game design with Confucius traveling around the world as the theme.In terms of innovation,based on the advantages of previous board games in spreading culture,this paper proposes to apply structural metaphor to the design of board games,and verifies its feasibility in practice.At the same time,it is the first time to create a cultural board game with Confucius traveling around the world as the theme.However,due to the impact of the epidemic,the offline testing work of this study has been hindered to a certain extent,and part of the testing can only be completed through the online board game simulator.We hope to complete a wider range of offline testing work after the epidemic,and also hope to throw a brick to attract jade.In the future,there will be more board game works carrying Chinese excellent traditional culture to the world. |
