Objective: To explore the influence of mindfulness training on sports performance and related psychological factors during college basketball competition.Methods: Literature,questionnaire,experiment,video analysis and mathematical statistics were used.Two undergraduate basketball special classes(50 students)from Nanning Normal University were selected,including 25 students from the experimental class(22 boys and 3 girls)and 25 students from the control class(23 boys and 2 girls).The experimental class received 12-week basketball teaching with mindfulness taijiquan as the main intervention,while the control class received regular basketball teaching without any intervention.Before and after the experiment,the students’ mindfulness level,sports performance and related psychology were tested by the Five-Dimensional Mindfulness Scale,Competition State Anxiety Questionnaire,Attention Network Test and Basketball Game,and the conclusions were drawn by comparative analysis.Results: 1.After the intervention of mindfulness training,there were significant differences in the level of mindfulness,sports performance score,free-throw index and competition psychology of students(P < 0.001;P score < 0.01;P free throw < 0.001;P competition psychology < 0.05),after the control class experiment,there was a significant difference in the scores of sports performance(P < 0.01),the other aspects had no significant changes(P mindfulness > 0.05;P sports performance > 0.05;P Competition psychology > 0.05);2.There was a significant positive correlation between the level of mindfulness and the free-throw index of athletic performance,and there was a significant positive correlation between the level of mindfulness and the psychological benefit(positively correlated with the state self-confidence and the executive control function of attention,negatively correlated with the levels of cognitive state anxiety and body state anxiety).Conclusion: After 12 weeks of mindfulness intervention,the level of mindfulness,executive control function of attention,state confidence,free throw level of sports performance of experimental class students are significantly improved,and the level of competition anxiety is significantly decreased.Mindfulness training can effectively improve the free throw shooting rate and related psychological state of college basketball students in competition.
