| School is an important environment for students to develop and maintain interpersonal relationships and cultivate peer communication skills.Academic performance is an important reference to reflect students’ performance at school,which is closely watched by parents,teachers and students.Specialty is a kind of special ability and advantage that is different from others,which helps to show personal charm and improve comprehensive quality.In campus life,academic achievements and special skills have different degrees of promoting effects on the growth and development of teenagers.Specialty and academic performance are the reference basis for impression evaluation of junior high school students,and the differences between these two factors will further affect their willingness to communicate with other peers.Based on the two basic dimensions of social cognition content,this study used trait evaluation method and imagined situation paradigm to explore the difference of impression evaluation of junior high school students by different specialties and academic achievements in school context,and further investigate the influence of such evaluation on junior high school students’ communication intention.This research is mainly divided into two parts.The first study adopts a within-subjects design to investigate junior high school students’ impression evaluation of different levels of specialties and academic achievements.The results show that there is an interactive effect between specialties and academic achievements on junior high school students’warmth evaluation and competence evaluation.Junior high school students believe that specialties have a positive role in promoting the warmth evaluation and competence evaluation of both outstanding and intermediate individuals.In the second study,a mixed experimental design was adopted to explore the influence and mechanism of specialties on junior high school students’ communication intention,and a moderated mediation model was established on the basis of the first study.The results of the second study showed that specialties could positively and significantly predict the communication intention of junior high school students,and specialties could influence the communication intention of junior high school students through the mediating effect of warmth evaluation and competence evaluation.In other words,individuals with specialties could enhance the communication intention of junior high school students by improving warmth evaluation and competence evaluation.Academic achievement not only plays a moderating role in the direct prediction of specialty on communication intention,but also plays a moderating role in the prediction of specialty on competence evaluation.With the improvement of academic performance,junior high school students’willingness to communicate with individuals with specialties is gradually enhanced.Compared with those with excellent academic performance,junior high school students believe that specialties can improve the competence evaluation of those with average academic performance,and then have an impact on their communication intention.According to the research results,it is found that special skills can promote students’competence and warmth evaluation,which can help improve the interpersonal communication status of junior high school students.Then combined with the current education reality put forward some educational application suggestions,in order to provide reference and reference for junior high school students’ interpersonal communication,to explore the multi-dimensional development of students,to fully tap the potential of students to provide path support. |
