In recent years,under the influence of the country’s "village revitalization strategy",in order to improve the quality of rural education,the state has strengthened the construction of rural teachers.In rural education,new teachers are a vigorous and fresh force,and their work shoulders the responsibility of revitalizing rural education.Due to the special nature of the teaching profession,new teachers in rural elementary schools are not only engaged in physical and mental labor,but also emotional labor in their education and teaching work.Therefore,when paying attention to the professional development of new teachers in rural primary schools,the research on emotional labor of new teachers in rural primary schools cannot be ignored.In this study,new teachers in elementary schools in D Town,Xuzhou City were used as the research object.With the help of questionnaires and interviews,the current situation of the emotional labor of new teachers in rural primary schools in D Town was investigated.There are significant differences in the emotional labor of new teachers in terms of gender,teaching age,teaching subject,whether to serve as a head teacher,and the location of the school.The study found that the emotional labor of new teachers in rural primary schools in Town D has the following problems:from an individual point of view,male new teachers have lower levels of deep-level behavior,the lower the teaching age,the more surface behaviors,and the low level of emotional labor perception of new teachers who are not head teachers;On the whole,the new teachers in Town D have too much emotional labor intensity,low levels of natural behavior,weak control over emotional fluctuations,and insufficient attention to emotional labor.The reasons for this are firstly the new teachers’ own reasons,including:insufficient professionalism,insufficient emotional intelligence,and low professional identity of male new teachers;secondly,the reasons for the characteristics of education work:including the particularity of the service target and the lack of organizational expression rules;Finally,there are reasons for the organizational environment,including:teacher recruitment neglects consideration of emotional labor skills,lack of emotional labor training,high competitive pressure for new teachers,and heavy workload.In order to improve the emotional labor of new teachers in rural primary schools,the followin g improvement strategies are proposed.First,new teachers should give full play to their internal e motional force,including:improve their professional quality,pay attention to the improvement of their emotional intelligence,establish a good teacher-student relationship,and cultivate their own local feelings;The second is to strengthen the pre-service training and inspection,including:stren gthening the emotional labor ability of normal university students,adding emotional labor skills in spection in recruitment;The third is the strong support of the school,including:clear emotional ex pression rules,create a humanistic environment,emotional labor into the performance evaluation;Fourth,social understanding and recognition.
