"Private Speech" is a common phenomenon in preschool children.It is an important way for children to use spoken language to achieve internal thinking,plays a very key role in the transition from external language to internal language,3-4 years old is the critical period of children’s language development,private speech is more important for children’s development at this stage.As an open free,material-rich area,art area can provide more external stimulation and inspire children to talk to themselves more.Therefore,the study of private speech of children of Junior Class in the art area has important value and significance.It can help us to clear the characteristics and special value of private speech in the art area,understand the uniqueness of children’s thinking and language development,and better guide the educational practice.In this study,qualitative approach was adopted to observe the private speech of 303-4 years old children(16 girls and 14 boys)in the art area.A total of 47 cases and 795 sentences were collected.This paper analyzes the private speech from the aspects of type,characteristic,function and influencing factors,and puts forward educational suggestions to realize the value of private speech of Junior Class children in art area.This study analyzes the types,characteristics,functions and influencing factors of private speech of Junior Class children in art area.The research found that from the dimension of content,private speech can be divided into four types:word play,remarks addressed to nonhuman objects,self-directed opinions and self-emotional expression.From the horizontal dimension,it can be divided into four levels:presocial self-stimulating language,outward-directed private speech,inward-directed private speech and external manifestations of inner speech.From the syntactic structure dimension,it can be divided into three types:word sentence,simple sentence and compound sentence.From the perspective of sentence tone,it can be divided into four types:declarative sentence,interrogative sentence,exclamatory sentence and imperative sentence.The study found that the private speech of Junior Class children in the art area has the following characteristics:The main purpose of children’s private speech is to obtain pleasant experience;Children’s private speech is mainly at the level of inward-directed;Children often use simple sentences to state things;The content of children’s private speech is mainly based on life.In the art area,children’s private speech has the function of enriching the connotation of works,expressing inner feelings,consolidating the original experience and promoting the task process.Through the analysis of the collected data,it is concluded that the activity type,task difficulty,life experience and gender difference will have a certain impact on the private speech.According to the types,characteristics,functions and influencing factors of private speech,this paper puts forward several educational suggestions for teachers to guide the educational practice in the art area:correctly understanding children’s private speech and capturing the educational opportunity;Enrich the creation environment and stimulate the desire to speech;Understand the level of children’s development and build a learning framework.
