| Learning is the main task of primary school students,students’ learning psychology has been a hot topic in the field of educational psychology.It has become an important practical problem for educators to raise the degree of primary school students’ academic engagement and make them achieve outstanding academic achievements.As important individuals,parents’ parenting style also exerts a subtle influence on the development of children’s psychology and behavior.However,it is not clear about the influence mechanism of parents’ parenting style on their academic engagement and achievement.As an important aspect of social cognition,autonomous learning motivation has been proved to have two approaches: implicit and explicit.However,previous studies only examined the influence of parenting style on explicit autonomous learning motivation,and the relationship between implicit autonomous learning motivation and parenting style has not been studied.Therefore,this study explores the overall development level of primary school students’ autonomous learning motivation through implicit and explicit approaches,and on this basis,examines the relationship between parenting style and explicit and implicit autonomous learning motivation.In the end,this paper makes an in-depth investigation of the mechanism of autonomous learning motivation between parenting style,academic engagement and academic achievement,so as to enrich existing studies.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Parents’ authoritative parenting style was positively correlated with explicit autonomous motivation,and could significantly predict pupils’ explicit autonomous motivation;There was a significant negative correlation between parental permissive parenting style and explicit autonomous learning motivation;There is no significant correlation between parental authoritarian parenting style and explicit autonomous learning motivation.(2)There is no significant correlation between parenting style and pupils’ implicit autonomous learning motivation.(3)Paternal authoritative parenting style completely influences students’ academic engagement through the intermediary variable of explicit autonomous learning motivation;However,mother’s permissive parenting style can not only directly affect primary school students’ academic engagement,but also indirectly affect them through explicit autonomous learning motivation.(4)Parents’ permissive parenting style can not only directly affect students’ academic achievement,but also indirectly affect them through explicit autonomous learning motivation;On the other hand,authoritative parenting style influences students’ academic achievement completely through explicit autonomous learning motivation. |
