An Analysis Of The Features Of Snowboarding Parallel Giant Slalom

Snowboarding Parallel Giant Slalom is a whole new category of snowboarding racing event derived from features of Alpine skiing since snowboarding was first introduced in Europe.In the 14 years of the development of this event in China since 2007,the country has achieved excellent accomplishments in the Asian Cup and Asian Winter Games.However,China have not achieved ideal results in international events such as Winter Olympics,World Championship and World Cup.Weak theoretical research is the main factor restricting the development of Parallel Giant Slalom in China and it is also the key problem which needs to be solved in the preparation for the coming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.This research project aims,from the perspective of sports training,to summarize the most critical features of Snowboarding Parallel Giant Slalom and possible key factors affecting the event so as to find the keys to success for China in the event in 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.This research project will enable coaches of the event to formulate more scientific and reasonable training plans for the athletes in order to improve the training level of the event and optimize athletes’ competition performance.By methods of literature review,expert interview,video analysis and mathematical statistics,this research project takes a deep exploration into features of Snowboarding Parallel Giant Slalom in terms of: competition,international pattern,technique,physical efficiency and rules.Laws of training are then summarized through these explorations,followed by “keys to success” for China in this event in 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.Conclusions are drawn as follows:1、In terms of competition features,Snowboarding Parallel Giant Slalom enjoys: a history with specific characteristics of times;younger participants;simplified rules;and popularized potentials;2、In terms of international pattern,trends in this event are: athletes from more countries,with increasingly balanced level;leading of athletes from European countries;and considerable strengths of Asian athletes;3、In terms of technique features,trends in this event are: powerful starting;bold sliding;accurate flag-gate technique;and exquisite sprinting;4、In terms of physical efficiency of this event: "maintaining high-speed sliding ability" is the fundamental feature of physical training;"highlighting the ability of starting and increasing speed" is the significant feature of physical training;"the leading role of strength training" is the core of physical training;"rehabilitation and functional training" is an essential feature of physical training;"science and technology assisted innovation training" is the times feature of physical training.5、In terms of rules features,trends in this event are: increasingly advanced starting order;personalized path selection;and fierce competition in PK mode;6、Five keys to success for China in this event in 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games are: the flag-gate technique;specific physical fitness;mental ability;and training methods.
