Research On The Influence Of Wechat On The Interpersonal Communication Of Female Floating Population In Lanzhou City

In the process of urbanization,more and more migrants are leaving their hometowns and entering cities to work hard.Different from other regions,the population flow in the Northwest Region is mainly in-province,and a small part is out-of-province.Intra-provincial mobility is mainly from rural to urban areas.After entering the city,their living habits and interpersonal relationships have undergone tremendous changes.The original interpersonal communication in the physical space based on blood-geographical relationship has been transformed into the interpersonal communication in the virtual space based on karma-network relationship.Among them,there are more and more female migrants who are dependent on their families to enter the city,and their interpersonal communication has gradually expanded from a circle of acquaintances that were originally family-based to a circle of weak relationships that were mainly work.On the other hand,after living in the city for a long time,the female migrant population has adapted to the rhythm of the city due to their ideology,living habits,etc,resulting in a gap with the original interpersonal relationship.However,for female migrants,We Chat not only maintains the original interpersonal relationship alienated by spatial distance,but also helps them build new social circles,broaden their social network,and become a window for them to display and express themselves,Boosted self-confidence and gained more sense of belonging in the city.This research uses interview methods,questionnaire surveys,and participatory observation methods,and uses theories in the fields of sociology and communication as the main theoretical tools to analyze the impact of We Chat on the interpersonal communication of female migrants,The results of the study found that the interpersonal relationships established by female migrants through We Chat belong to the interpersonal communication within the circle.The interpersonal relationship is still dominated by the traditional blood-geographic relationship.This interpersonal relationship can help them better adapt to the urban living environment.However,the interpersonal communication established within the circle hinders the female floating population from developing new interpersonal relationships,creating a gap between them and the urban mainstream subjects,which is not conducive to the construction of new social networks.On the other hand,interpersonal relationships established through We Chat are easily broken.Interpersonal relationships are in a bubble state.Once they touch the real image,interpersonal relationships are easily destroyed.Moreover,the "migratory bird-like" floating life of female migrants makes them The interpersonal relationship in the original place of life cannot be well adjusted to the new interpersonal relationship established in the city.Finally,this study combines the female migrant population’s own situation and the role of the community to provide some suggestions for the female migrant population’s interpersonal communication to help them increase their self-confidence,broaden their social network,and gain more sense of belonging in the city.
