| Over the past 40 years of reform and opening, along with the development of urbanization, the flow of population has gradually formed a general trend. With the emergence of the "return tide" of the older generation of floating population, the new generation of floating population is on the stage of The Times. The new generation of floating groups, which are mainly characterized by high education, have gradually developed into the backbone of promoting the construction and development of urban modernization in China. Therefore, studying the income gap of the new generation of highly educated floating population is conducive to promoting rational distribution, improving the balanced of national income and optimizing the equitable distribution of resources. This paper firstly analyzes the situation of the new generation of highly educated floating population, using the relevant data of CMDS from 2011 to 2018 to carry out qualitative and quantitative analysis on the demographic and sociological characteristics of the new generation of highly educated floating population and the changing trend of their income status, and compares their income differences under different characteristic categories. On this basis, combining with the new generation of highly educated floating population stratification of the income distribution of income, and preliminary understanding by Multinomial Logistic regression model results in the various income levels have a significant impact of the new generation of highly educated migrants income gap of explanatory variables, and the income gap between influence factors and influence degree is used in the comparison analysis. Finally, based on the regression results of Mincer income determination equation, the G·Fields decomposition was performed on the overall income gap to understand the contribution degree of each factor to the overall income gap,and then the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition was performed on the variables with greater contribution degree, while the income gap under different categories was measured. The empirical research results show that:(1)Individual characteristic variables, mobility characteristic variables and housing cost have significant impact on the income of the new generation of highly educated floating population;(2)In the new generation of highly educated migrant groups, due to the impact of household registration discrimination and search cost, there is a significant income gap between the migrant groups with agricultural household registration and those with non-agricultural household registration;(3)There is a significant gender income gap in the new generation of highly educated floating population, and the income of male floating population is significantly higher than that of female floating population;(4)In terms of the new generation of floating population with different educational backgrounds under gender discrimination, the income of the male floating population with college education and undergraduate education is significantly higher than that of the female floating population with the same educational background, and the income of the female floating population with graduate education is only significantly higher than that of the male floating population at the significance level of 10%.;(5)In terms of the new generation of highly educated floating population with different marital status under gender discrimination, the income of unmarried male floating group is lower than that of unmarried female floating group, and the income of married male floating group is higher than that of married female floating group, and the income gap is mainly caused by discrimination effect;(6)The new generation of highly educated floating population has a significant regional income gap.Compared with the floating group in the western region, the floating group in the eastern region has a higher income, and the discrimination effect makes a greater contribution to the income gap. |
