Abstract/Summary:
Emotional conflict refers to the interference of irrelevant emotional stimuli to the current task.Researchers mostly use emotional conflict effect as an analysis index,that is,compared with the consistent condition,the response time and accuracy rate of individuals in conflict are lower.It is not clear whether the emotional conflict level and task difficulty affect the emotional conflict effect.Although individuals with social anxiety have no functional impairment as those with social anxiety disorder,they still have some characteristics of the disorder group,which affect their social interaction and mental health.Therefore,this paper will explore the impact of conflict level and task difficulty on the emotional conflict effect of social anxiety college students.According to the score of social Avoidance and Distress Scale(SAD scale),35 subjects with high and low social anxiety were selected.In the first study,social anxiety level and emotional conflict level were used as independent variables,and the accuracy of response time and response time were used as dependent variables.The effects of conflict level on emotional conflict effect of social anxiety college students were investigated by using emotional Flanker paradigm.After excluding invalid data,34 students in the high social anxiety group and 31 students in the low social anxiety group were investigated.The results showed that the main effects of social anxiety level and emotional conflict level were significant,but the interaction between them was not significant.In terms of accuracy,the main effect of social anxiety level is not significant,the main effect of emotional conflict level is significant,and the interaction between the two is not significant.In study 2,two experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of task difficulty on the emotional conflict effect of social anxiety college students.The level of social anxiety and the type of emotional conflict were used as independent variables,and the accuracy rate of response time was used as dependent variable.In experiment 1,the Flanker paradigm was used to analyze the emotional conflict effect of individuals with social anxiety under low task difficulty.After removing the invalid data,30 people in the high social anxiety group and 33 people in the low social anxiety group had significant main effect on the level of social anxiety and the type of emotional conflict,but the interaction between them was not significant.In terms of accuracy,the main effect of social anxiety level is not significant,the main effect of emotional conflict type is significant,and the interaction between them is not significant.In experiment 2,Simon paradigm and Flanker paradigm were used to analyze the emotional conflict effect of individuals with high social anxiety under high task difficulty.After removing invalid data,35 people in the high social anxiety group and 32 people in the low social anxiety group were analyzed.The results showed that the main effect of social anxiety level and emotional conflict type was significant in response time.In terms of accuracy,the main effect of social anxiety level was not significant,but the main effect of emotional conflict type was significant,and the interaction between the two was significant.The accuracy rate of low social anxiety subjects in the Flanker task conflict was lower than that of high social anxiety subjects.Participants with low social anxiety had higher accuracy than those with high social anxiety in the Simon task congruent affective Flanker task conflict,Simon task congruent affective Flanker task conflict,and consistency affective affective Flanker task conflict.The conclusions are as follows :(1)Students with high and low social anxiety had emotional conflict effect between low and high conflict level and no conflict level.In the low conflict level and no conflict level,high and low social anxiety students have no emotional conflict effect.(2)Under low task difficulty,both high and low social anxiety students showed emotional conflict effect;Under high task difficulty,students with low social anxiety showed more obvious emotional conflict effect.
