Paternalistic leadership stemming from family business has been verified amonggovernments, hospitals, corporations, militaries, social services agencies, and educationalinstitutions. The competitive sports schools as a type of sports team is in accordance with themodel of paternalistic leadership raised by Zheng Boxun. Conflicts occasionally happenwithin the sports teams, and the coach will play the role as parents, which has a significantimpact on the conflicts. Therefore, the model of paternalistic leadership will be helpful topromote the coordination among team members, reduce the team conflicts, cultivate the teamawareness and cohesiveness, accelerate team construction, push the good operation andharmonious development of the team, and produce the perfect team performance. Thus, theimpact of this model on sports team conflicts has been a valuable research project.The research methods of literature analysis, case study, questionnaires, and logicalanalysis have been applied in the study of the relationship between the paternalisticleadership model and conflicts within the sports teams via the Half-pipe Snowboard Teamand Skiing Aerials Team in Shenyang Sports University.The results show that:(1)The paternalistic leadership has a significant impact on the team conflicts, that is, thebenevolent, authoritarian, and moral leaderships of the coach will have a significant impacton the task and relation conflicts of the team.(2)The benevolent leadership is negatively related to the task and relation conflicts, thatis, the more benevolent the coach leadership is, the less the task and relation conflicts will be.(3)The moral leadership is negatively related to the task and relation conflicts, that is,the more moral the coach leadership is, the less the task and relation conflicts will be.(4)The authoritarian leadership is positively related to the task and relation conflicts,that is, the more authoritarian the coach leadership is, the more the task and relation conflictswill be.
