Research On The Phenomenon Of The Younger Age Of Digital Labor On Tiktok Short Video Platform

The continuous penetration and deepening of the Internet and digital technology into people’s life has linked and activated the resources of the whole society,which not only profoundly changed the production and lifestyle of society,but also contributed to the formation of a new economic model and labor form under the Internet economy,thus giving birth to digital labor.Digital labor is mainly the "free labor" provided by Internet users’ unpaid and voluntary online behavior.At present,the penetration ability of the Internet for young groups continues to increase,and the user groups providing "free labor" on the network platform are increasingly showing a trend of younger age.The ever-changing digital technology is forcing them to be placed in the ubiquitous business logic and context step by step.Their outlook on life,world outlook and the construction and development of values will be profoundly affected by the contact with media,which will have many hidden worries for their future growth and development.The first part elaborates the theoretical background and realistic basis of the birth of digital labor in order to understand and analyze the phenomenon and essence of digital labor under digital capitalism.Firstly,by sorting out the audience research path of communication political economy,we can understand the transformation process of audience identity and the commercialization process,so as to clarify the theoretical background of the birth of digital labor.Secondly,it discusses the realistic basis of the birth of digital labor from the two aspects of Web2.0 technology and the birth of digital capitalism.The second part analyzes labor types and labor forms of middle and young digital workers on Tik Tok short video platform by combing relevant research results on user types of short video platform and combining with behavioral characteristics of young age groups on Tik Tok platform and data obtained from in-depth interviews.The third part studies the exploitation mechanism of young digital workers on Tik Tok short video platform and the alienation hidden therein.Firstly,it discusses how platform capital operates to exploit young digital workers.Secondly,in the context of exploitation,what alienation will inevitably occur in digital labor,and how these phenomena will have side effects on society and individuals.Last part of this phenomenon make further thinking and discussion,from the government,the platform and user three perspective,discusses the future young digital labor road to freedom and equality,believes that the resultant force to promote along with the society and the continuous improvement of the capital business operation system,platform,upgrade,and user awareness of self discipline,Finally,technology can become a "nutrient" to promote the healthy growth of under-age groups,and create a network ecology conducive to the healthy growth of under-age groups.From an academic perspective,this study can expand and supplement the academic research dimension of digital labor,and provide a new perspective for a deeper understanding of the relationship between young users and short video platforms.From the practical point of view,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the behaviors of under-age Tik Tok users,which helps to break the technology myths and prevent under-age groups from becoming alienated workers,so as to ensure the safety of minors’ cyberspace,protect their legitimate Internet rights and interests,and promote their healthy growth.At the same time,by revealing the specific forms of exploitation by commercial digital platforms to young users,the paper warns media platforms and short video industry to develop user resources and value reasonably and legally,so as to promote the more benign development of media ecological environment.
