HTP(Heated Tobacco Product)is an important part of new tobacco. As tobacco control is getting stricter worldwide, and new tobacco has obvious advantages in reducing environmental pollution and potential health risks of smoking, which has been regarded as a hot spot of development by tobacco enterprises. At present, the development of heated cigarettes is at a critical stage of development, and there are relatively few basic studies available for reference, such as raw material evaluation. Therefore,in this paper, tobacco raw materials of the same variety, the same producing area and different baking techniques were selected as research objects. An evaluation system was established for heated tobacco products by raw materials analysis for reconstituted tobacco, smoke analysis, thermal behavior research and sensory quality evaluation, etc. The relationship was explored among chemical composition, smoke composition and sensory quality, during the regenerated tobacco heating process. The main research contents and results are as follows:1.A solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography mass spectrometry method was used to establish a systematic method for detecting the components of heated cigarette materials. The method was used to detect the chemical composition and smoke composition of tobacco, which with different baking techniques. The principal components(PCA)and similarity analysis were performed on the volatile components by Origin,TQ Analyst,Chem Pattren and other software. The results showed that there were small differences in the conventional components of the fluecured tobacco leaves with different baking techniques. And the types and content distribution of volatile components has high consistency. However, there were significant differences in the types and content distributions of volatile components in heated tobacco raw materials and flue-cured tobacco raw materials. The contents of conventional components in the smoke under heating were reduced by 80% compared to the burning status. This method has practical guiding significance for the evaluation of the volatile components in the raw materials of heated tobacco.2.Thermogravimetric method and pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method were used to establish a thermoanalysis method, which could be used to detect heated cigarette tobacco raw material. The flue-cured tobacco leaves with different baking techniques were studied by this method. The results showed that when tobacco leaf samples were heated between 30? and 400?,the thermogravimetric curves of the samples can be divided into three stages. The first stage, water loss.In the second stage, the small molecule compounds volatilized and the large molecule decomposed. The third stage is the decomposition of macromolecules. There were significant differences in pyrolysis behavior between the two kinds of primary baked tobacco leaves and the tobacco materials of different commercial heated tobacco products. The activation energy and conversion rate of different tobacco samples showed the same trend, indicating that different tobacco materials had the same reaction process in the main pyrolysis stage, and all of them conform to the one-dimensional phase interface reaction model,G(?)=1.When the raw materials of heated tobacco products tobacco were heated between 250? and 350?,there was a large proportion of weight loss. The establishment of this method provides more comprehensive guidance data for the evaluation system of thermal behavior of heated tobacco raw materials.3.An analytical method was established to detect the the adsorption performance of reconstituted tobacco and heated tobacco core substrates by a dynamic moisture adsorption analysis system(DVS).The reconstituted tobacco, which was produced by primary flue-cured tobacco, was selected as research object. The adsorption performance of the reconstituted tobacco were compared with that of commercial heated cigarettes. As a result, there were significantly different between the reconstituted tobacco samples and commercial heated cigarettes. The method can be used as a technical guide for the preparation of smoke agent for heated tobacco products and can provide reference for the study of adsorption properties of heated tobacco products.4.The sensory quality evaluation data of reconstituted tobacco samples, which were produced by primary flue-cured tobacco with different baking processes, were compared with typical heated tobacco products. The applicability of primary flue-cured tobacco as raw material for heated tobacco products in different baking processes were analyzed based on the sensory quality evaluation data and chemical composition data. There was a relationship between certain chemical components of tobacco and sensory quality. In addition, there were some associations between the sensory quality of reconstituted tobacco samples and typical heated tobacco.Furthermore, these data can be used as an important index parameter to select the suitable raw tobacco leaves for heated tobacco products, and to adjust and optimize the production process.
