Research On The Impact Of US Anti-dumping On China's Phosphorus Chemical Industry

Induced by subprime crisis in America and government debt crisis in Europe,trade protectionism and unilateralism in western countries gradually emerged.From trade war between China and US to COVID-19 pervading globally,the global trade environment is extremely severe.America has initiated 828 anti-dumping investigations since 1983.Given the 192 anti-dumping investigations,China is the key target of America’s foreign anti-dumping investigations.The products involved in antidumping investigations mentioned cover a wide range of industries,among which chemical industry is often suffered as the "key target" of anti-dumping from America,accounting for 14% of the cases.As the pillar of the chemical industry,phosphorus chemical products have repeatedly encountered anti-dumping investigations by importing countries and suffered high-level anti-dumping duties.Therefore,China’s phosphorus chemical industry is faced with many uncertainties brought from the barriers above.Firstly,the article summarizes the literature involved with dumping and antidumping.Secondly,we approach the welfare changes of dumping and anti-dumping from economic perspective,and the trade effect caused by the anti-dumping duties.Thirdly,we introduce the overall situation of the United States’ anti-dumping against my country,especially to Chinese phosphorous chemical industry.Given the five antidumping investigations initiated by America against China’s phosphorus chemical industry,the overall situation of the United States’ anti-dumping against Chinese phosphorus chemicals is analyzed.Furthermore,this article explores the factors that might affect the US anti-dumping of China’s phosphorus chemical industry,demonstrate the impact of export price growth and import penetration on anti-dumping by the example of glyphosate,and reasons why chemical companies suffer from anti-dumping from macroeconomic and the other aspects.This article quote anti-dumping cases to analyze the five major trade effects of US anti-dumping against China’s phosphorous chemical industry,and conducts indepth discussion and analysis of its non-trade effects based on international production compromise,specific cases and RCA index.Finally,based on the characteristics of my country’s phosphorus chemical industry,it provides countermeasures and suggestions from the anti-dumping early warning mechanism,corporate factor capabilities,and industrial level,so that my country’s phosphorus chemical industry can make long-term plans,improve the industrial structure,and get out of the predicament of frequent anti-dumping from the United States.
