In the process of globalization, excessive energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions have been plaguing the sustainable development of the economy and society.Especially in recent years, along with China's economy entering the "new normal",China's economy is gradually changing from a sloppy model pursuing growth speed to an internal model pursuing quality, efficiency and environmental effectiveness, and the pressure on energy conservation and emission reduction is increasing day by day. Therefore, under the strategic context of "actively participating in and promoting the process of economic globalization" and "establishing a sound economic system of green,low-carbon and circular development",how to give full play to the energy-saving and emission-reducing effects of global value chain embedding and achieve the "win-win" of the two goals of GVC deep embedding and energy-saving and emission reduction has become the key to the successful promotion of China's supply-side structural reform and economic green transformation development.Global value chain has become the new normal of globalization and specialized division of labor, which covers the entire collection of activities that create value in the whole life cycle of a product in the global scope.Participation in global value chains will inevitably act on the production activities of the industry through a variety of ways, thus having an important impact on the factor inputs and pollutant emissions in the production process.Based on this, this paper incorporates global value chain embedding, energy consumption and carbon emissions into the same analysis framework for the first time. From the perspective of energy consumption intensity and energy consumption structure,it theoretically analyzes the impact of global value chains on energy conservation and emission reduction. On this basis, the WIOD database was used to estimate the global value chain embeddedness of 54 industries in43 economies around the world from 2000 to 2014,and through the construction of a dynamic multi-dimensional fixed effects model, the empirical study of the impact of global value chain embedding on energy saving and emission reduction The effect and mechanism of action. The study found that during the inspection period, global value chain embedding significantly reduced the industry's carbon emission intensity;developing economies' embedding in global value chains helped reduce their industry's carbon emission intensity, while developed economies' embedding in global value chains had an impact It is not obvious;global value chain embedding has a significant inhibitory effect on the carbon emissions of industries located upstream and downstream of the chain;the impact of global value chain embedding on carbon emission intensity of non-manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing industries is significantly negative, but not Conducive to carbon reduction in low-tech manufacturing. The mechanism test shows that the global value chain embedding not only exhibits the dual effects of energy saving and emission reduction, but also has a significant impact on carbon emissions through two ways of energy consumption intensity and energy consumption structure, thus GVC embedding exhibits a significant energy saving and emission reduction effect.Based on the above conclusions, this study put forward some suggestions and optimization measures in the context of China's reality, such as build a new pattern of opening up,promote the mutual coordination of energy saving and emission reduction policies, improve the efficiency of energy consumption and optimize the factor input structure,as well as encourage Rand D and innovation in low-tech downstream industries. The conclusions of this paper provide useful inspiration for China's deep participation in the division of labor in global value chains in the context of globalization, giving full play to the energy-saving and emission reduction effects of global value chain embedding, and further promoting the green transformation of economic development.
