With the improvement of people’s health awareness and the rapid development of intelligent products,traditional body composition analyzers have been unable to meet people’s needs,and most of the products appearing on the market remain at the upgrade and development of functional technology,which has many problems.The homogeneity of products is serious,non-professionals are not easy to recognize,functional segmentation is not perfect,it is difficult to meet the demands of people with different attributes,lack of sufficient research on the fuzzy front-end of products and systematic development thinking,and ignore the needs of users.Real understanding leads to low user satisfaction for the developed products.Therefore,the development of products driven by user needs to meet the diversity of user needs is an urgent problem to be solved.In order to effectively solve such problems,this paper introduces the INPD method to develop new products,and optimizes and improves the research process of this method.Taking the household body composition analyzer as the research object and taking INPD as the main research line,firstly,re-examining SET factors and changes in market trends can create new product opportunities and identify product opportunities gaps;secondly,qualitative and quantitative research through small and large samples Determine user needs,introduce Kano model to classify user needs,use QFD to establish the mapping relationship between user needs and design requirements,and modify the importance of user needs,transform user needs into design requirements,build a house of quality,quantify key design requirements and Prioritize and understand product opportunities;then form a specific product concept based on the research results to propose targeted solutions,and finally complete the product development of a user-centric household body composition analyzer.The innovation of this research is to transform the optimized INPD from a single qualitative research into a development process that combines qualitative and quantitative research.The advantages of Kano model and QFD are used to make up for the shortcomings of the traditional INPD method.Based on the optimization of the method,the user needs are fully analyzed,which can not only ensure the effective investment in the analysis of user needs in the early stage of the development of fuzzy,but also better quantify the key design requirement avoids the subjective deviation of the developer’s analysis of user requirements caused by the INPD combing requirements.Driven by user needs,it proposes key development directions for design and R&D personnel.According to the weight and priority of the obtained design requirements,a feasible design plan is proposed,which meets the needs of users to a certain extent,and provides a reference for the innovative design of this type of product.
