Clinical Observation Of Modified Taohong Siwu Decoction In The Treatment Of Upper Extremity Lymphedema (blood Stasis Syndrome) After Breast Cancer Surgery

Objective:To objectively evaluate its effectiveness by observing the clinical efficacy of Tao Hong Si Wu Decoction added flavor in the treatment of upper extremity lymphedema after breast cancer surgery,and to provide an effective method for the treatment of breast cancer related lymphedema(BCRL).Methods:The included 60 patients with lymphedema of the upper extremity after breast cancer surgery were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group,with 30 patients in each group.The treatment group was treated with Tao Hong Si Wu Decoction tastant,combined with manual massage;The control group underwent manual massage only.The contralateral side on the day before the treatment and the end of the 2 courses as well as the upper arm circumference 10 cm above the ulnar olecranon of the affected limb,the degree of swelling,the score of Chinese medicine syndrome,European Organization for research and treatment of cancer quality of life measurement scale for breast cancer patients(EORTC QLQ-BR23)scores were recorded and analyzed and compared with each other,using 2 weeks as 1 course.All data were analyzed using IBM spss22.0 statistical software and differences were considered statistically significant if P<0.05.Results:Through the 4-week clinical efficacy observation,the mean and difference of the affected limb arm circumference between the two groups after treatment,the effective rate of the extent of edema of the upper limbs between the groups,the mean and difference of the medical syndrome score between the two groups after treatment were statistically significant,the effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group;Within group contrast,the standard score of the quality of life measurement scale of patients in the control group was p<0.05 in the domain of upper limb symptoms,the difference was statistically significant;The standard scores of the quality of life measurement scale of patients in the treatment group were statistically significant at P<0.05 in three domains:side effects of systemic therapy,symptoms of the upper limbs,and breast symptoms.The difference between groups in the standard score of the patient' s quality of life measurement scale in the three domains of breast symptoms,upper extremity symptoms,and side effects of systemic therapy was p<0.05,which was statistically significant,with the treatment group being superior to the control group;It indicated that the addition of Tao Hong Si Wu Decoction could improve the quality of patient survival.None of the patients experienced treatment-related adverse effects.Conclusion:The addition of Tao Hong Si Wu Decoction to the treatment of upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer surgery can effectively shorten the circumference of the upper limb on the affected side,reduce the degree of edema in the affected limb,improve the clinical syndrome of patients,and improve the quality of patient survival.Treatment of upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer operation is effective and safe.
