A Survey Of TCM Constitution Types In 245 Asthmatic Children In Beijing Area

Objective:To further explore the internal causes of asthma by studying the constitution characteristics of children with asthma in traditional Chinese medicine,and to guide daily life according to the constitution to achieve the purpose of better prevention and treatment of diseases.Research methods:this study through the investigation in April 2020-April 2021 Beijing Chinese medicine hospital affiliated to the capital university of medical sciences,pediatrics,children's hospital affiliated to the capital institute of pediatric asthma ZhuanBing outpatient 3-14 years old children with asthma and in dongcheng district,miyun area a two kindergarten preschool children screening study standard for children with asthma in a total of 245 cases.According to the "constitution of TCM scale for children",a questionnaire survey was conducted on their pre-illness physical state to determine the type of constitution of TCM,and the distribution rule of constitution was studied through descriptive analysis and chi-square test.At the same time,132 cases of asthma children before the onset of school learning,living environment and other aspects were investigated and analyzed.Results:Of the 245 collected constitution of TCM questionnaires for asthmatic children aged 3-14 years,4 were invalid,and 75 cases(30.6%)of children had single constitution,and 166 cases(67.8%)of children had compound constitution.Inherent constitutions(163 cases,40.0%),Yin deficiency constitutions(94 cases,23.1%)and Yang heat constitutions(63 cases,15.5%)were the most common constitutions in children with asthma,and there was no statistical difference between the three constitutions in different age groups and genders.In the complex constitution,the most common intrinsic quality+Yin deficiency quality,intrinsic quality+Yang heat quality and Yang heat quality+Yin deficiency quality.Through the survey of 132 children with asthma,it is found that the preschoolers and school-age children are generally under the pressure of schoolwork and extracurricular classes.In terms of living conditions,some children were exposed to humidity,pet hair and tobacco smoke.Conclusion:Constitution of TCM of 245 asthmatic children aged 3-14 years was mainly characterized by intrinsic quality,Yin deficiency quality and Yang heat quality,and its distribution pattern was different from that reported in previous literature.
