Interpretation Practice Report For Huawei P20 Product Launch

In recent years,with the continuous progress and development of science and technology,electronic products gradually play an important role in people's lives,especially for smart phones.In order to further open up the international market,it has become a trend for domestic brands to hold electronic product press conferences abroad,thus the electronic product press conferences interpretation is inevitable.In order to save time and achieve better display effect,most of the press conferences adopt the way of simultaneous interpretation.In view of this,the author makes a study on Huawei P20 product launch conference interpretation.The author analyzed the problems in the interpretation for the conference and tried to explore the corresponding solutions.The P20 product launch has its own characteristics,such as:the whole process of the conference lasts about 120 minutes;the speaker's speech is mostly impromptu;product and technical terms are involved.As a result,it is difficult for interpreters to keep their attention for longer time-span and allocate their energy reasonably;the logic of the output of the target language is not strong;and the interpretation of technical terms is not accurate.In the whole process of practice,the author found the following problems : Improper handling of fast source language;Not familiar with relevant products and technical terms;Redundant and wordy translation.In view of the above problems,the author practices and summarizes the corresponding countermeasures.They are: Summarize the core content;Conditional zero translation;Simplification strategy;Integration strategy.
