Manchu Animal Words And Cultural Studies

There are a quite large number of Manchu animal vocabularies.From animal vocabularies,we can spy on the origin and evolution of an ethnic group's ecological environment,cognitive concepts,cultural customs,language psychology,religion,and art,which makes studying Manchu animal vocabularies significant for understanding the history,culture and language development of Manchu.This paper uses theoretic methods such as lexical semantics,cultural linguistics,and ethnic linguistics to explore the relationship between Manchu animal vocabularies and culture,revealing the cultural connotation of Manchu animal vocabularies.By defining statistical classifications of Manchu animal vocabularies and comparing semantic folk classifications and scientific classifications,the impact of civilization,cognitive methods,fishing and hunting techniques,cultural attention and natural environment on folk classifications is discussed.Analyze the semantic structure and motivation ratio of Manchu animal vocabularies,and study Manchu ancestors' cognition of nature and its changes.By analyzing some unique phenomena of Manchu animal vocabularies,the influence of Manchu ancestors' natural ecological environment,livelihood methods and dietary customs on Manchu animal vocabularies is explored.Analyze the relationship between Manchu animal vocabularies and spiritual culture and ethnic contacts of Manchu ancestors.Studies have shown that Manchu animal vocabularies are closely related to the natural ecological environment,fishing and hunting culture and cognitive style of Manchu ancestors,as well as are influenced by the contacting ethnic culture.
