Tang Jingsong Research

Tang Jingsong(1842-1903),an official in the late Qing Dynasty,a modern poet and opera writer.He lived in Jiangkou Village,Guanyang County,Guilin Province,Guangxi Province,and was born in Jiji.At the time of Tang’s birth,the Qing Dynasty had gradually entered into a frivolous situation.After he and Di Denke entered the country,the country was more worried about internal and external problems,and the war was still frequent.Tang Jingsong,deeply affected by the traditional Confucian culture,deeply felt that "the world rises and falls,and the husband is responsible",but he is a low-ranking candidate in the Ministry of Officials.Until the Guangxu period,the French-Vietnamese war,which affected the borders of Guangxi,Tang Jingsong did not hesitate his own life and safety,and did not hesitate to gossip in the court."Army",hit the French army many times,with outstanding warfare,and then awarded the Fujian Taiwan Road with merit after the war,and later moved to the post of governor and the governor.After the Sino-Japanese War,the Qing Dynasty was defeated,and the two countries signed the "Maguan Treaty," which ceded Taiwan to Japan.The Qing government ordered it to abandon the Taiwanese crossing,Tang Jingsong and all Taiwanese people furiously resisted the enemy and refused to hand over Taiwan.The Taiwanese gentry established its own "Taiwan Democracy" and publicized Tang as the "Grand President" of the Democratic State.Ten days after the establishment of the "Democratic State",the Japanese army captured Keelung in Taiwan,the defensive forces were defeated,and thousands of miles were defeated.From the Sino-French war to fame,to the infamous Sino-Japanese War,his life encounters and political career are full of contingency and necessity.Therefore,sorting out Tang Jingsong’s life trajectory can enrich the research on border crisis and coping strategies in the Qing Dynasty,which is an important part of the study of the history of the late Qing dynasty.
